Wearable apparatuses, methods, and systems for diagnosis, analysis, therapy and other uses

A wearable neck brace uses, for example, only three actuators but provides natural motion of the head and neck. This is achieved despite the fact that the head has six degrees of freedom including 3 translation and 3 rotation. In embodiments, a wearable neck brace actively controls the head of the wearer responsively to commands from a user interface such as an eye tracking input device. In further embodiments, a force-field is generated by actuators to provide assistance and/or training for weak muscles. Spring compensation may be provided for a passive support with flexibility. Encoders may be provided to generate treatment logs to support analysis of a patient's condition or progress or to provide therapy-facilitating (or athletic training-facilitating) feedback to the user.

VESTIBULAR TRAINING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE

The present disclosure relates to a device including electrostatic brakes providing haptic kinaesthetic feedback to a user in e.g. assistive, rehabilitation or virtual reality scenarios, as well as tele-manipulation.

SYSTEMS AND DEVICES FOR ASSISTIVE MOBILITY
20210267837 · 2021-09-02 ·

Systems and devices for assistive mobility are described herein, e.g., for assisting those with reduced mobility to reduce energy used during gait and to reduce fatigue and loads on joints. In some instances, a walking assistive device, e.g., an exoskeleton, can be coupled to a user. The device can include a harness that can be coupled to a torso of the user and a support that can be coupled to a leg of the user. The device can also include an elastically deformable member that is coupled to the harness and the support that can expand during walking strides or other body movements to reduce muscle strain and augment the metabolic cost of walking. The elastically deformable member can store and release mechanical energy during phases of the gait cycle to provide additional torque to the biological torque generated at the hip joint.

ROLLATOR
20210228433 · 2021-07-29 · ·

A rollator for mobility assistance to a user is provided. The rollator includes a chassis foldable in a compacted configuration, wheels rotatably mounted to the chassis, wheel braking assemblies engageable with the wheels, and a pair of handgrips mountable to the chassis and operatively connected to the chassis. Both handgrips have to be configured in a handgrip displacement configuration to configure the wheel braking assemblies into a displacement configuration of the wheels and wherein both wheel braking assemblies are simultaneously in the displacement configuration. The rollator can include a seat assembly which can be configured in a raised configuration and a seated configuration. In the seated configuration, a pressure equal to or greater than a seat pressure threshold has to be applied on the seat for the wheel braking assemblies to be configured in the displacement configuration.

STEAM PHYSIOTHERAPEUTIC DEVICE
