The base may be positioned on a surface or structure, and portions of the harness may be positioned around the body of a user, such as under the arms and around the back. The user may manipulate the adjustable fastener to position portions of the harness a desired distance from the first cross brace. The user may then lean forwards with the support structure and the harness will provide lift, and therefore decompression, to the body and back of the user.
