A washing machine appliance and additive dispensing assembly are provided herein. The washing machine appliance may include a cabinet, a wash tub, a wash basket, and an additive dispensing assembly. The additive dispensing assembly may be positioned within the cabinet and configured to provide wash fluid to the wash tub. The additive dispensing assembly may include a water supply conduit, a booster pump, an additive dispenser, and a siphon channel. The water supply conduit may extend between a water supply and the wash tub. The booster pump may be positioned along the water supply conduit downstream from the water supply. The siphon channel may extend from the additive dispenser to the water supply conduit downstream from the booster pump.

A laundry washing machine and a method for operating the washing machine offer ways to load a unit dose package into a compartment of the washing machine. A control unit controls the washing machine to add water to a compartment having a unit dose package. The tub is then filled with hot or cold water depending on the temperature of the water in the tub, or whether a sanitizing cycle of a washing program has been selected.

A washer and a control for an automatic washer to operate the washer through a wash cycle selected based upon a range of conditions of a fabric load to be washed. The method includes applying power to the laundry treating apparatus to input an installation inspection command through an input part, detecting an initial water level within an outer tub to store the detected initial water level value, opening a cold water valve to supply water, determining whether a water level within an outer tub reaches a target supply water level within a first set time (t.sub.1) from a time point at which the cold water valve is opened, and closing the cold water valve when the first set time (t.sub.1) elapses. When the water level within the outer tub does not reach the target supply water level within the first set time (t.sub.1), a first error message for informing a water supply error is displayed on a display part.

A laundry treating appliance and method of operating a laundry treating appliance includes a treating chamber receiving laundry for treating, a dispenser fluidly coupled to the treating chamber and a faucet. A water supply circuit includes a hot water inlet and a cold water inlet supplying hot water, cold water, or a mixture of hot and cold water to the faucet.
