SYSTEM AND METHOD OF TREATMENT USING A UNIVERSAL CAGE APPARATUS
A system and a method of treatment using a universal cage creating a coordinate method of exercise. Physical therapy or fitness exercises are provided to a patient through a system of cords, blocks and belts disposed on a plurality of grid panels through a plurality of mounting devices. Placement of the mounting devices on the grid panel is determined by which muscle groups are receiving therapy and the type of movement required. Once the placement for each movement is determined, the coordinates of the mounting device are captured so that the mounting devices can be preset consistently for each therapy session.
VIRTUAL REALITY-BASED REHABILITATION
A method of performing rehabilitation includes moving a first limb of a patient and displaying, for viewing by the patient in virtual reality, the movement of the first limb of the patient as the first limb of the patient is being moved.
Robotic sports performance enhancement and rehabilitation apparatus
A robotic sports apparatus includes a plurality of robotic arms and a plurality of fastening members operably coupled to a respective robotic arm of the plurality of robotic arms. Each fastening member is configured for receiving a limb of a patient. Each robotic arm is configured to move each respective fastening member in at least one of a different direction or a different speed relative to one another for opening neural pathways in the patient.
Multi-Posture Lower Limb Rehabilitation Robot
The application presents a multi-posture lower limb rehabilitation robot, which includes a robot base and a training bed. The training bed comprises two sets of leg mechanisms, a seat, a seat width adjustment mechanism, a mechanism for adjusting the gravity center of human body, a back cushion, a weight support system and a mechanism for adjusting the back cushion angle. The robot base comprises a mechanism for adjusting the bed angle. The mechanisms for adjusting the angles of bed and back cushion can be used together to provide paralysis patients with multiple training modes of lying, sitting, and standing postures. Each leg mechanism comprises hip, knee, and ankle joints, which are driven by electric motors; angle and force sensors are installed on each joint, and can be used to identify patients' motion intention to provide patients with active and assistant training. The mechanism for adjusting the gravity center of human body, the leg mechanisms, and the weight support system can be used together to implement human natural walking gait to improve the training effect.
WALKING TRAINING APPARATUS AND ITS CONTROL METHOD
A walking training apparatus includes a first wire winding mechanism configured to pull a wire connected to a leg upward and forward, and control means. The control means performs at least one of control, in a leg-idling period, so as to make the first wire winding mechanism generate a driving force obtained by adding a second driving force for reducing a loss of the pulling force of the first wire winding mechanism caused by mechanical friction in the first wire winding mechanism to the first driving force, and control, in a leg-standing period, so as to make the first wire winding mechanism generate a driving force obtained by subtracting the second driving force for reducing the loss of the pulling force of the first wire winding mechanism caused by the mechanical friction in the first wire winding mechanism from the first driving force.
APPARATUS FOR UNLOADING A USER'S BODY WEIGHT DURING A PHYSICAL ACTIVITY OF SAID USER, PARTICULARLY FOR GAIT TRAINING OF SAID USER
The invention relates to an apparatus (1) for unloading a user's body weight during a physical activity of said user (4), particularly for gait training of said user (4), comprising: a plurality of ropes (41, 42, 43, 44), wherein each rope (41, 42, 43, 44) extends from an associated drive unit (510, 520, 530, 540), is deflected by a passively displaceable deflection device, e.g. a device that is displaceable by means of the forces in the deflected ropes, and then runs to a first free end (41a, 42a, 43a, 44a) of the respective rope (41, 42, 43, 44), and a node (60) being coupled to said first free ends (41a, 42a, 43a, 44a) and being designed to be coupled to said user (4), wherein the drive units (510, 520, 530, 540) are designed to retract and release the respective rope (41, 42, 43, 44) so as to adjust a current rope force (F.sub.R) along the respective rope (41, 42, 43, 44), which current rope forces add up to a current resulting force (F) exerted on said user (4) via said node (60) in order to unload the user (4) upon said physical activity. Further, the invention relates to a method for controlling such a system.
Therapeutic exercise method and therapeutic exercise apparatus
The proposed apparatus and method relate to restorative sports medicine and patient rehabilitation with neurological motoric disorders. A patient is positioned in equilibrium by suspension devices for patient's body parts. The suspension devices are moved by actuating mechanisms with an electro-pneumatic drive and actuating components, controlled by a programmed computer, motivating the patient by controlling an object in a virtual gaming environment, to restore movements when there is an initially minimal or a complete absence of physical activity. The effectiveness is judged according to the reduction of energy consumption of the drives. The apparatus includes a base composed of two parallel guides with movable crossbars, on which the actuating mechanisms are pairwise movably arranged, monitoring and control units, the computer, sensors detecting the state of the actuating mechanisms, and power sources. There are units for analyzing the energy consumption of each drive and for assessing the treatment results.
Portable multi-functional upright body stretching apparatus
An apparatus for stretching comprises a body holder for connecting to a support device (e.g., a frame or ball joint). The body holder includes a body support panel for receiving an upper portion of user's body, a left arm holder for receiving a left arm, and a right arm holder for receiving a right arm. The left arm holder and the right arm holder are pivotally connected to the body support panel. The body support panel can have an ergonomic curved surface to approximate a part of user's torso. The left arm holder can also have a curved surface to approximate a portion of left side of a user's torso and at least a portion of left arm. Similarly, the right arm holder can have has a curved surface to approximate at least a portion of right side of the user's torso and at least a portion of right arm.
