3D spacer textiles for crop protection and insect control
A variety of agricultural spacer fabrics/textiles are provided that protect plants from insect penetration while allowing for light and air penetration, and methods of use. The textiles can be used alone or in conjunction with agents such as insecticides, insect repellants, and fungicides. The agricultural textile can have an outermost fabric layer, an innermost fabric layer, and a plurality of filaments connecting the outermost fabric layer and the innermost fabric layer.
Composition for forming coating
Provided is a method for forming a good fibrous coating on a target surface even in a high-humidity environment when electrostatically spraying is performed directly on the target surface such as skin. A composition for forming a coating of fibers on a target object by electrostatic spraying, comprising the following components (a), (b), (c) and (d): (a) 1 mass % or more and 45 mass % or less of a polymer having a film-forming ability; (b) 45 mass % to 95 mass % of one or more volatile substances selected from the group consisting of an alcohol and a ketone; (c) a conductivity controlling agent to control the conductivity of the composition to 8 μS/cm or more and 300 μS/cm or less; and (d) 0.2 mass % or more and 25 mass % or less of water.

PLANT BASED ANTI-MICROBIAL FABRIC TREATMENT, TREATED FABRICS, AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A process for effectively binding plant-based antimicrobials to various fabrics which provides for long term antimicrobial effect of the fabric and the resultant fabric.
DUST REPELLENT SILICA AND TITANIA COATINGS
Novel coatings disclosed herein can be used to mitigate dust adhesion. In one embodiment, a method of making a dust repellant coating includes combining a titanium dioxide sol with colloidal silica to form a mixture. The method also includes adding solvent to the mixture, stirring the mixture for about an hour, and filtering the mixture into a solution of titanium dioxide and silica dioxide.
TREATMENT AGENT FOR CARBON FIBER PRECURSOR, AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF TREATMENT AGENT FOR CARBON FIBER PRECURSOR, CARBON FIBER PRECURSOR, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CARBON FIBERS
The present invention addresses the problem of suitably improving a treatment agent for a carbon fiber precursor in terms of the heat resistance and the effect of suppressing fusion between fibers during the step of flame-resisting treatment. This treatment agent for a carbon fiber precursor is characterized by containing a lubricant, the lubricant comprising a specific sulfur-containing diester compound and a specific sulfur-containing monoester compound.
WATER SOLUBLE FIBERS WITH POST PROCESS MODIFICATIONS AND ARTICLES CONTAINING SAME
A fiber having a surface region and an interior region includes a polymer comprising at least one of a vinyl acetate moiety or a vinyl alcohol moiety, the fiber having a transverse cross-section including the interior region comprising the polymer having a first degree of hydrolysis and the surface region comprising the polymer having a second degree of hydrolysis greater than the first degree of hydrolysis.

COMPOSITION FOR THE PERMANENT HYDROPHILIC FINISHING OF TEXTILE FIBERS AND TEXTILE PRODUCTS
A composition to be used for providing permanent hydrophilic finishing of textile fibers and textile products made thereof consists of at least one anionic surfactant based on a neutralized phosphoric acid ester of a fatty alcohol having at least 12 C-atoms in a proportion of 25 to 80 weight percent, a non-ionic consistency enhancer in a proportion of 10 to 50 weight percent, a hydrophilically modified polyalkylsiloxane in a proportion of 3 to 35 weight percent and a hydrotropic dispersion additive in a proportion of 0 to 5 weight percent, each based on the total weight of the composition. The composition is preferably present as a granulate and has a melting point of at least 45° C.
SEALANT MATERIAL
Use of a sealing material which is a multifilament or spun yarn coated with a joint sealing composition to seal a joint in a pipe system in which system a fluid having corrosion inhibitors such as diammonium dimolybdate or benzotriazole; and/or sludge removers; and/or an alcohol such as propane diol, or ethylene glycol; and/or a hydrocarbon such as diesel, including biodiesel, fuel oil, or hydraulic oil; and/or steam at a temperature of at least 180° C. and a pressure of at least 10 bar (1000 kPa); is to be passed through the sealed joint. It is surprising that the sealing materials of the invention can maintain a sealed joint despite exposure to such materials.
