Composite fabric comprising a bacterial biopolymer layer

Provided is a composite fabric having a base fabric and at least one bacterial biopolymer layer. The base fabric is a woven fabric, and includes warp yarns and weft yarns. At least a first plurality of warp yarns and a first plurality of weft yarns form a base layer of the base fabric. A second plurality of warp yarns and/or a second plurality of weft yarns forms an additional layer of loop portions on at least one of the sides of the base fabric. The bacterial biopolymer layer is provided at least on part of the additional layer. Further provided is a process for the production of the composite fabric and a clothing article formed of the composite fabric.

COLLAGEN-INFUSED COMPOSITE MATERIALS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

The present disclosure provides a collagen-infused composite material comprising an optionally functionalized armature including a base substrate and one or more and non-woven substrates. The non-woven substrate(s) can be directly coupled to a topmost surface and/or bottommost surface of the base substrate. The material properties and/or collagen infusion capacities of the base substrate and the non-woven substrate(s) can be tailored to create a collagen-infused composite material with characteristics that mimic those of a natural leather. In some embodiments, the base substrate can be spacer fabric. In some embodiments, the armature can be functionalized to facilitate the crosslinking the collagen to the armature during one or more tanning processes.

Anti-Viral Lactoferrin Facemask
20210361750 · 2021-11-25 ·

A breathable biological face covering comprising a fabric material and an anti-pathogen substance on the fabric material. The anti-pathogen substance comprises a lactoferrin protein. The amount of lactoferrin protein on the fabric material may be in the range of 0.6-1.5 grams/m.sup.2 of fabric material. Another embodiment is a lactoferrin composition comprising an aqueous fluid at pH<7.0 and lactoferrin protein mixed in the aqueous fluid at a concentration of 0.6-1.5 grams per liter. This lactoferrin composition may be administered into the respiratory tract. This composition could be useful against respiratory microbial pathogen, such as influenza virus or coronavirus.

BIODEGRADABLE TEXTILE FIBERS WITH INHERENT COLOR AND PROPERTIES

A biopolymer composition can be formed based, at least in part, on a recombinantly expressed protein, expressed from a DNA coding sequence of a source protein, and the recombinantly expressed protein can optionally comprise one or more tags that enhance the crosslinking capacity of the protein. It was determined that such biopolymer composition can be suitable for use to obtain, for example, a biodegradable textile that exhibits a functional characteristic associated with the recombinantly expressed protein.

Composition for use in the finishing, preservation, restoration of manufactures

An aqueous composition comprising chitosan and fibroin nanoparticles, with a diameter equal or lower than 140 nm, and an acid agent, with pH equal or lower than 6, and viscosity equal or lower than 3.5 kg×m.sup.−1×s.sup.−1 measured at 25.0±0.1° C., kit and method for finishing and/or preservation and/or restoration and/or renovation and/or repairing and/or consolidation of manufactures, in particular ancient manufactures are disclosed.
