Fibrous mats and panels having a gypsum-based coating and methods for the manufacture thereof
Coated nonwoven fibrous mats, building panels, and methods for making the same are provided. A coated nonwoven fiber mat includes a nonwoven fibrous mat having a continuous barrier coating on a surface thereof. The continuous barrier coating includes a set composition of gypsum and a binder. A building panel includes a panel core associated with a coated nonwoven fiber mat. A method of making a coated nonwoven fibrous mat includes depositing a composition of water, gypsum stucco, and a binder onto a surface of a nonwoven fibrous mat and setting the composition to form a continuous barrier coating.
Crosslinked phenolic compound, method of forming, and polymer composition containing the same
A method of forming a crosslinked polyphenol, the method comprising: reacting a bio-based phenolic compound comprising at least one phenolic hydroxyl group, with a crosslinking agent comprising at least two functional groups reactive with the phenolic hydroxyl group, wherein the at least two functional groups are each independently a halogen group, acid halide group, sulfonyl halide group, glycidyl group, anhydride group, or a combination comprising at least one of the foregoing, to provide the crosslinked polyphenol.

PROCESS FOR PRODUCING FIBROUS MATERIAL WITH ANTIMICROBIAL PROPERTIES
The application relates to a process for producing fibrous material with antimicrobial properties, wherein in the first step coniferous resin acid composition is emulsified into aqueous solution with emulsifier and wetting agent, and in the second step thus formed emulsion is transferred into fibrous material by impregnation. Further, the application relates to an aqueous antimicrobial composition for use as a water-soluble concentrate in the treatment of fibrous materials, and to a fibrous material with antimicrobial properties, and to its use in e.g. fabrics, fur, leather, clothes, canvas, tissues, plastics, webs, accessories, packaging materials, wallpapers, food-related products, household products, footwear, construction materials, insulating materials and medical products.

FUNCTIONAL SUBSTANCE ADSORPTION DEVICE FOR FIBER
A functional substance adsorption device for fibers including: a casing having a space formed therein and an opening and closing door located on the front surface thereof; a drum rotatably disposed inside the casing and having a space formed therein to put the fibers therein and a plurality of fine through holes formed thereon; a driving part disposed on one side of the casing to rotate the drum; and a fine particle supply part comprising a fine particle supply hose communicating with the outer periphery of the casing, a vaporization tank connected to one side of the fine particle supply hose, a pneumatic ultrasound generator disposed inside the vaporization tank to vaporize an antimicrobial agent, and an air compressor for supplying pneumatic pressure to the pneumatic ultrasound generator.
Combination of an organic substrate and organic formulation for use as a cutting board and storage container
A combination is provided that is used as a self-healing cutting board or a storage container. Both comprise a natural fabric and a formulation. The formulation infuses the natural fabric. The formulation comprises a natural wax, which is preferably bees wax and Damar resin, and has a melting point of about 70 C to about 80 C. The cutting board can be rejuvenated by heating. Both the board and the storage containers are anti-microbial, non-skid, water resistant, re-useable and compostable.
