DEVICES AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING MECHANICAL STIMULATION TO NERVE, MECHANORECEPTOR, AND CELL TARGETS
Presented herein are systems, methods, and devices that provide for stimulation of nerves and/or targets such as mechanoreceptors, tissue regions, mechanoresponsive proteins, and vascular targets through generation and delivery of mechanical vibrational waves. In certain embodiments, the approaches described herein utilize a stimulation device (e.g., a wearable device) for generation and delivery of the mechanical vibrational waves. As described herein, the delivered vibrational waves can be tailored based on particular targets (e.g., nerves, mechanoreceptors, vascular targets, tissue regions) to stimulate and/or to elicited particular desired responses in a subject.
AURICULOTHERAPY DEVICE
A device and method for providing auriculotherapy are disclosed. The device has a base and first side. The first side of the device contains a plurality of therapeutic projections which engage acupressure points of the ear. The device is fitted to the ear such that the therapeutic projections provide constant stimulation of the desired acupressure point.
High-resolution, selective and self-optimizing haptic and electrotactile display and methods of use
High-resolution, selective, and self-optimizing haptic and electrotactile display and methods of use. In an embodiment of a feedback system referenced herein, the feedback system includes a prosthesis configured to be worn by an individual, including at least one prosthesis sensor configured to detect a state or condition in an environment of the at least one prosthesis sensor, and at least one actuator in communication with the at least one prosthesis sensor and configured to receive data relating to the detected state or condition and to stimulate a nerve of the individual; a neural sensor positioned upon or within the individual, configured to detect a neural response relating to the stimulation of the nerve by the at least one actuator; and a processor in communication with at least one of the at least one prosthesis sensor, at least one of the at least one actuator, and the neural sensor.
User interface method and system for ear stimulation
Systems and related methods for controlling delivery of a stimulus to a pinna of a subject with a stimulator worn on the pinna are described. A wearable stimulation device includes a mechanical, electrical, or other type of stimulator secured to a pinna of a subject. A personal computing device in communication with the wearable stimulation device controls delivery of stimuli and other aspects of operation of the device. The personal computing device presents various types of information relating to operation and control of the device to a user of the wearable stimulation device. In some aspects recommendations regarding neural stimuli and other stimuli or experiences to be delivered in association with the neural stimuli are provided via a computing system in communication with the personal computing device or the wearable stimulation device.
Acoustic shock wave therapeutic methods to prevent or treat opioid addiction
The method of treating a patient addicted to pain medication or opioids has the step administering acoustic shock waves or pressure pulses to the patient. A second embodiment includes a treatment to reduce a patient's pain caused by a medical condition and/or medical procedure to reduce or eliminate the taking of addictive pain medication. The treatment has the step of administering acoustic shock waves or pressure pulses directed to an area near a source of the pain or to one or more reflexology zones or to one or more reflexology zones and to an area near the source of the pain or both to treat the medical condition or prior to the medical procedure or during the medical procedure or after the medical procedure or any combination thereof.
WEARABLE DEVICE FOR VIBROTACTILE AND/OR THERMAL NERVE STIMULATION
Various aspects include wearable devices and related approaches for stimulating nerves proximate a user's ear, e.g., providing one or more health benefits. In some particular aspects, a wearable device for providing vibrotactile stimulus to at least one nerve proximate an ear of a user includes: an earpiece having a vibration device for application of vibrotactile stimulus proximate at least one of a concha region or an ear canal of the user; and a controller connected with the vibration device, the controller configured to actuate the vibration device according to a modulated pattern to stimulate at least one nerve proximate the ear of the user, where the modulated pattern is characterized by: a peak drive level sufficient to stimulate nerve endings of at least one nerve proximate the ear of the user; and a carrier frequency of approximately 50 Hertz (Hz) to approximately 500 Hz.
DIGITAL TINNITUS TREATMENT ELECTRONIC HEADSET SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATION OF SAME
The present invention relates to an electronic headset system which is preferably wirelessly controlled, and is used to treat a tinnitus disorder. The system in an electronic headset and preferably an electronic communication device, such as a smartphone, laptop, tablet, desk top computer, server, and the like or any combination thereof. The electronic headset includes a treatment probe and emits complex signals which are converted into vibrations by the treatment probe and are transmitted to a users cochlea via the treatment probe communicating with the user's mastoid bone when the electronic headset is worn, thereby alleviating the symptoms of the user's tinnitus disorder.
NON-PHARMACEUTICAL METHOD OF MANAGING PAIN
A method of managing pain provides sensory stimuli to a person. The sensor stimuli include visual and/or auditory stimuli which are pulsed at the rate of various types of brain waves. The method is applicable for treating nociceptive or neuropathic pain and/or for improving the person's tolerance for pain. Treatment is provided for approximately 15 minutes using a portable headset.
ACOUSTIC SHOCK WAVE OR PRESSURE PULSE TREATMENT AND METHODS OF USE FOR ANTI-AGING
A method of treating a reflexology zone to reduce aging using pressure pulses or shock waves has the steps of: placing an applicator head of an acoustic shock wave or pressure pulse generator or source at a reflexology zone; coupling the applicator head directly or indirectly to an exposed surface of the skin near the reflexology zone; and activating the generator or source to emit pressure pulses or acoustic shock waves through the skin to the reflexology zone to reduce, reverse or stop cell senescence or aging and apoptosis.
MULTI-MODAL SYNCHRONIZATION THERAPY
The invention provides methods for treating a neurological disorder or deficit, such as tinnitus and phantom limb pain.
