The liquid repellent membrane is a monomolecular membrane of a fluorine-containing organic compound that binds to a surface of the base fabric through a binding moiety represented by —Z—O—* (wherein Z represents an atomic group containing a Si atom, and * represents a binding site to the surface of the base fabric) and includes a perfluoroalkyl group having 4 or less carbon atoms at a terminal, and the fluorine-containing organic compound undergoes intermolecular bonding between the fluorine-containing organic compounds adjacent to each other by mutual binding of Z in the formula.

The present invention is directed to a substrate, in particular textile material to which one or more antimicrobial and/or hydrophilic and/or stain release agents are adhered. The agent(s) is/are adhered to the substrate in such a manner that they are not released from the textile even if the textile is wetted or washed, so that the textile is reusable. Washability and/or usability of the textile are improved where one or more hydrophilic and/or stain release agents are adhered to the textile. The substrate can be used, e.g., in a reusable sanitary napkin or other hygiene product. The structure of the hygiene product is disclosed, together with a process of attaching the different layers of the hygiene product together by ultrasonic welding. The invention further relates to a method of finishing a substrate by applying and binding antimicrobial and/or hydrophilic and/or stain release agents to the substrate so that the agents are essentially irreversibly adhered to the finished substrate.

Provided is a method for manufacturing a water-repellent knitted fabric and a water-repellent knitted fabric. The method includes: dyeing a yarn; obtaining a knitted fabric by knitting the dyed yarn which is dyed in the dyeing of the yarn; dipping the knitted fabric in a water-repellent liquid to allow the water-repellent liquid to penetrate into a structure of the dyed yarn and to be coated on a surface of the dyed yarn; dehydrating the knitted fabric after the dipping of the knitted fabric and then incompletely drying the knitted fabric while moisture remains in the dyed yarn; adhering the water-repellent liquid applied to the knitted fabric by applying heat to the knitted fabric after the dehydrating of the knitted fabric; washing the knitted fabric using water after the adhering of the water-repellent liquid; and drying the knitted fabric after the washing of the knitted fabric.

SURFACE TREATMENT AGENT

A water- and oil-repellent agent that is an aqueous dispersion containing (A) a fluorine-free polymer having repeating units derived from a fluorine-free (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer, (B) a wax, (C) an aqueous medium, and (D) an emulsifier. The fluorine-free (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer is a compound represented by the formula CH.sub.2=CA.sup.11-C(═O)—O-A.sup.12 where A.sup.11 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and A.sup.12 is a linear or branched C.sub.18-30 hydrocarbon group. The emulsifier includes a sorbitan ester and another emulsifier, and the emulsifier has a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) of 7.5 to 13.5. Also disclosed is a method of producing the water- and oil-repellent agent and a method of producing a treated substrate by applying the water- and oil-repellent agent to a substrate.

ANTIFOULING PROCESSING AGENT COMPOSITION, AND ARTICLES AND TEXTILE PRODUCTS TREATED BY USING THE SAME

To provide an antifouling processing agent composition capable of imparting oil repellency and antifouling properties (stain release properties), while suppressing a reduction in the water absorbency of a textile product. This antifouling processing agent composition comprises: a fluorinated polymer comprising from 30 to 70 mass % of units based on F(CF.sub.2).sub.nY—OCOCR═CH.sub.2 (wherein Y is an alkylene group, and R is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, or a halogen atom) and from 20 to 60 mass % of units based on CH.sub.2═CR.sup.1—COO—(R.sup.2O).sub.q—R.sup.3 (wherein R.sup.1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R.sup.2 is an alkylene group, and R.sup.3 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a (meth)acryloyl group, or a glycidyl group), and having a number average molecular weight of 3,000-500,000; and a fluorinated amphoteric surfactant having a C.sub.1-6 perfluoroalkyl group or a C.sub.3-9 perfluoroalkenyl group, and having a number average molecular weight of less than 3,000.

METHOD OF TREATING SUBSTRATE

Provided are a fluorine-free soil resistant agent and a soil resistant treatment method which give excellent water-repellency and excellent antifouling property to a substrate, especially a carpet. The soil resistant agent contains (1) a fluorine-free copolymer having (a) a repeating unit formed from an acrylic monomer having a hydrocarbon group containing 7 to 40 carbon atoms, and (b) a repeating unit formed from an acrylic monomer having a hydrophilic group, and (2) water or a mixture of water and an organic solvent dispersing the fluorine-free copolymer (1). A method of treating the substrate, includes applying the soil resistant agent to the substrate.

A fabric treatment composition is provided that includes at least one zeta potential modifier, a fluoropolymer and a hydrophobic agent with a melting point or glass transition temperature below 100 C., for imparting fabric protection benefits to a fabric, such as improved stain and soil resistance, oil repellency, water repellency, softness, wrinkle and damage resistance, and better hand feel. Fabric treatment compositions can be used as a pretreatment prior to washing, through soaking, or added to the treatment liquor, that is either the wash or rinse cycle of an automatic washing machine, to first provide and then maintain and refresh the fabric protection benefits imparted to the fabric, with the proviso that an intermediate rinsing step essentially devoid of added surfactantis used after the washing cycle and prior to the fabric treatment step. Following use of a first treatment composition, protective benefits are maintained and refreshed by means of a second treatment operation employing a second treatment composition. The second treatment composition may have lower active levels of the protective agents to provide for economical and periodic maintenance of the imparted fabric protection benefits.

Atmospheric-pressure Plasma Device for Fabric Functional Finishing and Its Application

The present disclosure discloses an atmospheric-pressure plasma equipment for fabric functional finishing and its application, and belongs to the field of textile printing and dyeing engineering. The atmospheric-pressure plasma equipment, including a discharging system, a grafting instrument and a cloth guider, can conduct continuous plasma treatment on fabrics under an atmospheric pressure, including plasma etching and plasma grafting, which breaks through the disadvantage of batch processing of vacuum plasma equipment. The equipment and method of the present disclosure realize functional finishing of the fabrics in the absence of water, and this finishing process is cost efficient, environmentally friendly, uniform, shorter treatment time and higher reactivity, and applicable to many materials and can keep the bulk properties of the treated substances.
