The present invention is directed to a system and method for creating different bio-based, natural composite textile materials. In the system and method described herein, a non-woven fabric is used as a backing material upon which the bio-based, natural composite materials are applied in one or more coating layers, resulting in a bio-based and substantially biodegradable textile material that provides high performance in consumer industries, such as the footwear industry.

Method for the Production of a Microporous Polymer Coated Fabric

The present inventions relates to a low solvent based method for the production of a microporous polymer coated fibrous fabric, comprising the steps of contacting the fabric with a composition dispersed in an aqueous medium thereby coating the fabric with the composition, and contacting the coated with a coagulation solution and drying of the fabric, crosslinking the polymer resin. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a cleaning cloth comprising a microporous polymer coating obtained by the method.

A fiber mat includes a unitary assembly of fibers including at least a first set of fibers and at least a first binder comprising an organic resin, wherein the unitary assembly of fibers includes a minority portion and a majority portion different than the minority portion, wherein the fiber mat provides at least a 5% increase in tear when placed in a bituminous roofing product compared to an equivalent bituminous roofing product made with a fiber mat of equivalent weight containing a homogenous mat structure.

ROOFING MATERIALS WITH IMPROVED LOW TEMPERATURE SEALANT PERFORMANCE AND METHODS OF MAKING THEREOF

This invention, in embodiments, relates to a roofing material comprising (a) a coated or covered substrate and (b) a single sealant applied to a surface of the coated or covered substrate, with the single sealant being free of asphalt. The single sealant exhibits a minimum activation temperature (° C.) (tan δ>1) from −10° C. to 0° C. The single sealant is configured to adhere the roofing material to at least one of (i) an underlying roofing material, (ii) an overlying roofing material, and (iii) a roofing deck substrate.

Process for producing polyvinyl alcohol articles

The present invention provides a process for modifying the surface of a polyvinyl alcohol film or fabric by applying heat and pressure to the film or fabric to increase the moisture on the surface which is held by the fabric and to coalesce the surface fibers and reduce the porosity of the surface.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SHEET-LIKE PRODUCT

Provided is a production method in which a sheet-like article that has high moist heat resistance and has good surface quality and texture can be produced, regardless of the coagulation technique used for the polyurethane, by an environmentally friendly manufacturing process that is designed to cause reaction of a crosslinking agent while maintaining the texture possessed by the material before crosslinking. The production method for sheet-like articles is a sheet-like article production method characterized by impregnating a fibrous base material with water dispersed polyurethane as a binder, coagulating it to provide a sheet, adding a solution or dispersion liquid of a crosslinking agent to the sheet, and then heating it at a temperature of 100° C. or more and 200° C. or less.

Methods of forming an artificial leather substrate from leather waste and products therefrom

Methods of making an artificial leather substrate from leather waste (e.g., shavings, such as wet blue, and/or pulverized trim scrap) and products formed using the artificial leather substrate are disclosed. In one example, the artificial leather substrate comprises a composite web comprising leather waste mixed with a lightweight web, a lightweight web atop the composite web, and another lightweight web atop the first lightweight web. A method of making the artificial leather substrate includes the steps of mixing one or more fiber components, leather shavings, and/or pulverized leather trim scrap to form the composite web; needle punching the composite web; and bonding the composite web.

POLYIMIDE COMPOSITION AND PREPARATION METHOD OF SEPARATION MEMBRANE

A preparation method of separation membrane is provided. First, a polyimide composition including a dissolvable polyimide, a crosslinking agent, and a solvent is provided. The dissolvable polyimide is represented by formula 1:

##STR00001##

wherein B is a tetravalent organic group derived from a tetracarboxylic dianhydride containing aromatic group, A is a divalent organic group derived from a diamine containing aromatic group, A′ is a divalent organic group derived from a diamine containing aromatic group and carboxylic acid group, and 0.1≦X≦0.9. The crosslinking agent is an aziridine crosslinking agent, an isocyanate crosslinking agent, an epoxy crosslinking agent, a diamine crosslinking agent, or a triamine crosslinking agent. A crosslinking process is performed on the polyimide composition. The polyimide composition which has been subjected to the crosslinking process is coated on a substrate to form a polyimide membrane. A dry phase inversion process is performed on the polyimide membrane.

SUEDE TYPE ARTIFICIAL LEATHER WITH ANTIFOULING PROPERTY AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR

A suede type artificial leather having an antifouling property is provided. A polymeric elastomer is impregnated in a nonwoven fabric formed by three-dimensionally interlacing ultrafine fibers and raising is formed, wherein the polymeric elastomer is a fluorine-containing modified polyurethane, and the fluorine-containing modified polyurethane is obtained by a polymerization of a urethane prepolymer having isocyanate groups at terminals, obtained by reacting a diol and a diisocyanate, and a fluorinated carbon compound having hydroxy functional groups at both terminals. The fluorine-containing modified polyurethane has a weight average molecular weight of 500,000 to 800,000. The suede type artificial leather is prepared by using the fluorine-containing polyurethane elastomer.
