SYNTHETIC LEATHER

Provided is a synthetic leather including: a base fabric that has a limiting oxygen index of 25 or more, and that is a knitted body of a yarn including a flame-retardant fiber having a limiting oxygen index of 25 or more, a cellulose-based fiber, and a carbon fiber; an adhesion layer containing a flame retardant, the adhesion layer being provided at at least one side of the base fabric; and a skin layer provided at a side of the adhesion layer opposite from a side at which the base fabric is provided.

FUNGAL TEXTILE MATERIALS AND LEATHER ANALOGS

Textile compositions comprising at least one filamentous fungus are disclosed, as are methods for making and using such textile compositions. Embodiments of the textile compositions generally include at least one of a plasticizer, a polymer, and a crosslinker, in addition to the filamentous fungus. The disclosed textile compositions are particularly useful as analogs or substitutes for conventional textile compositions, including but not limited to leather.

The present disclosure is relates to an environmental-friendly artificial leather and a method of manufacturing the same. The manufacturing method of the environmental-friendly artificial leather includes steps in which a first fiber web is formed by meltblown. The method continues with step in which a filament fabric is disposed on the first fiber web. The method continues with step in which a second fiber web is meltblown on the filament fabric, so as to form a multilayer fiber structure. The method continues with step in which the multilayer fiber structure is heat pressed to form the environmental-friendly artificial leather.

Embodiments of the textile compositions generally include at least one of a plasticizer, a polymer, and a crosslinker, in addition to the filamentous fungus. The disclosed textile compositions are particularly useful as analogs or substitutes for conventional textile compositions, including but not limited to leather.

The invention relates to a plant-based flexible material and a process for preparation thereof. The flexible material is useful as an alternative to leather, formed without the use of animal products. In one aspect, the present invention provides a process for preparing a plant-based flexible material, comprising the steps of: a) providing a dispersion of lignocellulosic biomass in an agueous-based solvent and further comprising one or more binders, wherein the one or more binders comprises at least one sulphated polysaccharide; b) heating the dispersion to a temperature of at least 35? C. to form a heated dispersion; and c) drying the heated dispersion to form the flexible material.
