A method for treating a natural or synthetic leather object is provided. The method includes directing plasma onto a surface of an natural or synthetic object to form a plasma treated object, the object including at least one of a natural leather material and a synthetic leather material, applying adhesive onto the plasma treated object, and bonding the plasma treated object with a polymeric coating.
FABRICS INCLUDING A BARRIER COATING AND HYGIENE ARTICLES INCLUDING THE SAME
A fabric suitable as an alcohol repellent fabric is provided. The fabric includes a fibrous substrate including a first outermost surface and a second outermost surface, in which a non-fluorinated barrier coating (NFBC) or a fluorinated barrier coating (FBC) is located on at least a portion of a first outermost surface of the fabric, at least a portion of a second outermost surface of the fabric, or both.
POLYPROPYLENE FABRIC AND FABRIC TREATING METHOD
A polypropylene fabric woven from a plurality of polypropylene fibers comprises a first surface and a second surface, at least one of the first surface and the second surface is treated with electro-optical treatment.
ADHESIVE ARTICLE LINER WITH SORBENT MATERIAL
Described herein is a liner comprising a sorbent material entrapped in a non-woven fiber matrix, wherein the liner comprises a first and a second major surface; and a first adhesive layer contacting the first major surface of the liner, wherein the first adhesive layer comprises a pressure sensitive adhesive.
ELECTRET AND ELECTRET FILTER
An electret is disclosed including: a carrier, and polytetrafluoroethylene having a melting point of 35 C. or higher and 320 C. or lower deposited on the carrier, wherein the electret imparts an electrostatic charge to at least one of the carrier and the polytetrafluoroethylene, and has two or more melting point peaks in simultaneous thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis. An electret filter is disclosed which preferably is used for a filter which requires durability to tobacco smoke. An electret filter is also disclosed having a fluorine-containing component deposited on a fiber surface, wherein an initial QF value is 0.5 mmAq.sup.1 or more in collection efficiency of particles having a particle diameter of 0.3 to 0.5 m at a wind speed of 5 cm/s, and a filter deterioration rate by tobacco smoke loading is 8/(g/m.sup.2) or more.
ARTIFICIAL TURF AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING
A method of manufacturing an artificial turf provides for moving a carrier mesh through an air gap formed between a first electrode and a second electrode of a dielectric barrier discharge device, applying a dielectric barrier discharge to a backside of the carrier mesh for plasma-activating the backside, and applying a backing layer to the plasma-activated backside of the carrier mesh for providing the artificial turf.
Method of coating onto fabric substrates by means of plasma
A process for producing a fluorinated polymer coating on a fabric substrate, including providing a first plasma source containing at least one pair of hollow-cathode plasma generating electrodes, injecting a first plasma generating gas in the at least one pair of hollow-cathode plasma generating electrodes, applying a first electrical power to the first plasma source, injecting a fluorinated monomer with an inert carrier gas between the at least one pair of hollow-cathode plasma generating electrodes, and depositing the fluorinated polymer coating on a surface of the fabric substrate by exposing the fabric substrate to the plasma of the first plasma source. The fluorinated polymer coating is water repellent.
MANUFACTURING METHOD OF WEAR-RESISTANT ARTIFICIAL LEATHER
A manufacturing method of a wear-resistant artificial leather includes forming a modified thermoplastic polyolefin film and laminating the modified thermoplastic polyolefin film onto a substrate to form a first laminate structure, forming a polyurethane layer on a release paper and then forming an adhesive layer on the polyurethane layer to form a second laminate structure, attaching the adhesive layer of the second laminate structure to the modified thermoplastic polyolefin film of the first laminate structure, removing the release paper to expose the polyurethane layer, and forming a silicon-containing water-based polyurethane surface layer on the polyurethane layer to obtain the wear-resistant artificial leather.
