Additionally, the present invention is directed to a method of preparing these nucleic acid comprising nanoparticles coated with a (biodegradable) polymer and to a method for coating nucleic acid comprising nanoparticles by a (biodegradable) polymer on medical or diagnostic devices.
BIOFEEDBACK BELT SYSTEM
A biofeedback belt system which serves as an alert belt with the ability to decrease stomach size as well as decrease the arch of a user-wearers lower back. The invention is designed for patients who have hyper lordosis conditions. The mechanism of the belt is based on biofeedback. When a user-wearer relaxes their abdominal region, the belt produces vibration or sound and the user-wearer must tighten their abdominal region to discontinue the vibration or noise. Biofeedback belt system can also work in a manner such that when the user-wearer tightens their abdominal region, the belt plays music or favorable vibration separately or together as encouragement. Over a period of time of tightening of the abdominal region on a regular basis, the abdominal region size decreases and abdomen strengthens.
UTILITY CLUTCH FOR STIMULATING ACTIVITY AWARENESS FOR ABDOMINAL MUSCLE ENGAGEMENT
An apparatus for stimulating activity awareness to engage abdominal muscles has a belt and buckle assembly designed to circumscribe a user's waist and fasten at the side. A front clutch with one or more containment members is horizontally coupled to an outside face of a vertically widened portion of the belt, facing outward. A back pouch is slidably coupled to the belt, a sealable back pouch containment member is designed to fold over the belt to be interior to an inside face of the belt, disposed against the user's lower back, and is able to contain cold/heat packs. One or more rechargeable batteries are disposed within the front clutch. A plurality of electrodes with accelerometers are disposed on an inside face of the vertically widened belt portion designed to vibrate upon detecting abdominal muscle movement, or lack of movement. A GPS and safety alert tracker may be included.
HAND-HELD ROTARY DEVICE FOR TIGHTENING SKIN
A hand-held rotary device for tightening skin and tissue includes a handle attached to a cylindrical roller bar. A motor is disposed in a cavity of the handle, the motor having a drive shaft extending from the motor and providing the rotational force for the rotary device. The cylindrical roller bar is mounted on the drive shaft and has a cushioned and textured exterior surface.
MITT FOR COMPRESSION GARMENTS
A wraparound portion of compression garments may include a mitt defining a mitt opening. A user may place their hand in the mitt opening of the mitt to assist in donning the compression garments about their body. For example, the wraparound portion of the compression garment may be located in awkward position for a human user to grasp, and the mitt and mitt opening may assist a user in grasping and moving the wraparound portion about their body.
AUTOMATED RESUSCITATION SYSTEM INTEGRATING HEMODYNAMIC AND DEFIBRILLATORY CAPABILITIES
An automated resuscitation system is provided, which can improve the outcome of patients suffering ventricular fibrillation or the ventricular tachycardia variants of cardiac arrest. This outcome can be achieved by a device that integrates automatic mechanical or pneumatic capability with electrical countershock capability such that the probability of defibrillation or cardioversion with return of spontaneous circulation is increased.
GASTROINTESTINAL TREATMENT SYSTEM INCLUDING A VIBRATING CAPSULE, AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
A gastrointestinal treatment system including a gastrointestinal capsule adapted to treat a subject following ingestion of the gastrointestinal capsule. The gastrointestinal capsule includes: (a) a housing; (b) a vibrating agitator, powered by the battery, the vibrating agitator adapted such that, in a first vibrating mode of operation, the housing exerts vibrations on an environment surrounding the capsule; (c) a power supply disposed within the housing and adapted to power the vibrating agitator; and (d) a controller adapted, in response to receipt of an activation input, to activate the vibrating agitator to operate in the first vibrating mode of operation at at least one predetermined time of day. The system and method may be used to treat an ailment of the gastrointestinal tract and/or to mitigate at least one symptom of jetlag in a subject travelling from an origin location to a destination location.
Gastrointestinal capsule
An ingestible gastrointestinal capsule (GIC) for mechanically stimulating a segment of the gastrointestinal (GI) wall by alternately and repeatedly pressurizing, and/or vibrating it is provided. The GIC is programmed to being activated following a predefined time delay. The activated GIC agitates, shakes, rattles, jolts, vibrates and/or moves in a reciprocal expanding and contracting motion thereby mechanically stimulating the adjacent segment of the GI wall at a targeted location. Activation of the GIC may include a number of automatically accomplished partial activations, such as when the time elapsed from the moment of setting the GIC on equals a predefined time delay; when the mechanical load applied onto the GIC exceeds, and/or gets lower than a respective predefined level of mechanical load; when the ambient pH reaches a predefined level, or changes, and/or a temperature associated with the user reaches a predefined threshold. Agitation is accomplished by an agitation mechanism embedded in the GIC. Such agitation mechanism includes an unbalanced weight attached to the shaft of an electric motor, an actuator implemented by, such as an electric solenoid, an electro-active polymer (EAP), a dielectric elastomer actuator (DEA), embedded in a GIC of the invention.
VIBRATION CAPSULE AND POWER SUPPLY METHOD THEREOF
The present invention provides a vibration capsule and a power supply method thereof. The vibration capsule includes an enclosure, a vibration source disposed within the enclosure and a battery unit electrically connected to the vibration source. The battery unit includes a battery and a power supply regulation unit connected to the circuit of the battery and the vibration source. The vibration capsule regulates the supply voltage of the battery to the vibration source through the power supply regulation unit, so that the battery provides the supply voltage lower than the total voltage of the battery to the vibration source, which can reduce power consumption and provide longer vibration time while ensuring the vibration safety of the vibration capsule.
Device and Method for Improved Muscle Contraction
A device and a method of applying vibration on a muscle for improving muscle contraction are disclosed. The device includes a motor. The device includes an adhesive strip. The adhesive strip is a reusable dual-sided adhesive strip. The adhesive strip removably mounts over a muscle or muscle group. The motor causes vibration and transmits the vibration to the muscle through the device and the adhesive strip, causing the user to concentrate on the muscle. The user detaches the device from one muscle or muscle group, and attaches to a different muscle or muscle group. The vibration caused by the motor helps the user to concentrate on the muscle during exercise, assisting with mind-muscle connection, which helps to improve muscle contraction.
