Inverted carpet designs can be provided having new features. Specifically, instead of providing loop side up (like almost all carpet), the reverse side is used as the wear side (with back stitches showing). New features, like providing design elements intermediate or on the primary backing and the back stitches can be provided with various embodiments.

Carpet Backing Comprising Natural Compounds
20220002939 · 2022-01-06 ·

A carpet or carpet tile comprising a biobased backing is provided. The resultant carpet tile has advantages in terms of environmental issues and reduces the need for fossil fuels. The backing is made using a backing composition comprising a resin, an oil, optionally a thermoplastic elastomer, and a filler material.

Installation of multi-component floor mat

This invention relates to installation methods for a multi-component floor mat. The floor mat typically contains a textile component and a base component. Alignment and deployment of the textile component with the base component in an efficient manner is described herein.

Polyester tufted carpet with polyester extrusion coating

The present invention relates polyester tufted carpet where the tufts are engaged with a primary polyester backing and where a polyester extrusion coating is applied to the backside of the primary backing to lock the tufts which therefore avoids the use of a latex adhesive.

Reinforced polymeric nonwoven mat for carpet tiles

A carpet tile includes a textile top member and a carrier mat that is coupled with the textile top member via a thermoplastic material. The textile top member includes carpet yarns and a backing that is coupled with the carpet yarns so that the backing structurally supports the carpet yarns. The carrier mat includes a polymeric material component, a reinforcement, and a binder that is uniformly distributed throughout the polymeric material component and reinforcement component. The polymeric material component includes polymer fibers that are randomly oriented and entangled together. The reinforcement is disposed within the polymeric material component so that the reinforcement is entirely covered and concealed by the entangled polymer fibers to prevent exposure to a user. The reinforcement mechanically reinforces and stabilizes the polymeric material component and carpet tile.

POLYMERIC WET-LAID NONWOVEN MAT FOR FLOORING APPLICATIONS

A flooring product may include an upper flooring material and a glassless wet-laid nonwoven mat. The glassless wet-laid nonwoven mat may include a plurality of polymeric fibers and a binder. The plurality of polymeric fibers have a linear mass density of between about 1.0 denier and 4.0 denier. The plurality of polymeric fibers have lengths of between about 6 mm and 25 mm. The binder has a loss on ignition of at least about 20%. The glassless wet-laid nonwoven mat has a hot-wet % of at least about 20%.

Floor covering

A method of making a floor covering including a tufted textile substrate and a reinforcement backing system. A layer of reinforcement fibers is positioned on the ends of yarn stitches. Applicators are operationally connected such that adhesive is forced into the reinforcement fiber layer towards a primary backing substrate, and adhesive is also substantially simultaneously directed to form a pool of adhesive between the applicators, and a portion of the pool of adhesive is also substantially simultaneously applied as a layer of adhesive on the reinforcement fiber layer.

ARTIFICIAL TURF FIELD SYSTEM

An artificial turf field system is provided. The system may include a plurality of synthetic turf strands attached to a backing layer and an infill material positioned between the synthetic turf stands. The infill material may include a plurality of porous particles. A sub-layer may be included beneath the backing layer, and may be formed of a resilient material. A support layer may be included beneath the sub-layer, and may include materials configured for drainage. The porous particles of the infill material may include porous ceramic particles and the sub-layer may include rubber. The porous particles may be at least partially coated, for example, by a polymer coating. The infill material may be free of sand and/or crumb rubber.
