COMPOSITES FOR CURED-IN-PLACE PIPE
Embodiments of the present disclosure include flexible impregnated articles, composites produced by curing such flexible impregnated article, and processes for forming flexible impregnated articles. The flexible impregnated articles, composites, and processes can be used as alternatives to articles, composites, and processes in a cured-in-place pipe rehabilitation process that include epoxy resins, thus eliminating toxicity issues associated with the use of epoxy resins. The instantly-disclosed flexible impregnated articles, composites, and processes can be particularly useful for the CIPP process in potable water pipe and pressure pipe applications.
ANTI-BLISTERING AGENT FOR TUFTED SURFACE COVERINGS
A method of manufacturing a tufted surface covering includes incorporating tuft fiber into a backing to form the tufted surface covering, wherein the tufted surface covering includes an underside and a pile surface; coating the underside with a colloidal latex coating, wherein the colloidal latex coating has an exposed surface; wetting the exposed surface with an anti-blistering agent; and heating at least the underside to cure the colloidal latex coating into a solid latex coating.
BIO-BASED CARBON NEGATIVE DURABLE TOPCOATS
This invention discloses an approach of achieving bio-based carbon negative topcoats by developing a plant-based non-isocyanate polyurethane coating. Both bio-based contents and carbon dioxide are used as feeding materials in resin synthesis and formulations, yielding durable topcoats with low environmental footprints.
CARPETS HAVING AN IMPROVED DELAMINATION STRENGTH AND FLUID BARRIER PROPERTIES AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME
A moisture resistant carpet composition exhibiting exceptional delamination strength and methods of making same are disclosed.
HALOGEN FREE FLAME RETARDANT WATERBORNE COATING COMPOSITION FOR TEXTILE
The present invention relates to a flame retardant waterborne coating composition comprising: a) water dispersed hydroxyl-terminated polyurethane particles, and b) isocyanate crosslinker, wherein (i) the hydroxyl-terminated polyurethane contains phosponate oligomer as a building block in an amount of from 3 to 75 parts by weight relative to the hydroxyl-terminated polyurethane, wherein the phosphonate oligomer contains units according to the following structural formula in which n is an integer from 1 to 20, R is a C.sub.1-20 alkyl, C.sub.2-20 alkene, C.sub.2-20 alkyne, C.sub.5-20 cycloalkyl or C.sub.6-20 aryl, and R.sub.2 is an aliphatic or aromatic group, (ii) the hydroxyl number of the hydroxyl-terminated polyurethane is from 5 to 180 mg KOH/g polyurethane, (iii) the molar ratio of hydroxyl groups present in the hydroxyl-terminated polyurethane to isocyanate groups of the crosslinker is from 0.2 to 2.0.

NOVEL AQUEOUS POLYMER DISPERSION COMPOSITION AND METHOD OF ADHERING TEXTILE MATERIALS
The invention comprises a method. The method comprises applying a composition to a tufted primary backing material, wherein the primary backing material has a first primary surface and a second primary surface, wherein tufts extend outwardly from the first primary surface and loop backs are formed on the second primary surface, and wherein the composition is applied to the loop backs and second primary surface of the tufted primary backing material. The composition comprises an aqueous polymer dispersion of colloidal thermosetting polymer particles or colloidal thermoplastic polymer particles and second thermoplastic polymer particles dispersed in the water, wherein the second thermoplastic polymer particles have an average particle size of approximately 200 micron to approximately 1,000 microns. The method further comprises heating the tufted primary backing material and aqueous polymer dispersion to remove water therefrom. A novel adhesive composition is also disclosed.
AQUEOUS POLYURETHANE RESIN, SURFACE TREATMENT AGENT, AND LEATHER SURFACE-TREATED WITH THE SAME
An aqueous polyurethane resin is a chain-extended product of a neutralized product of an isocyanate group-terminated prepolymer which is a reaction product of (a) an organic polyisocyanate, (b) a polyol, (c) a compound having an anionic hydrophilic group and at least two active hydrogens and (d) a polyhydric alcohol, the chain-extended product being obtained by chain-extending the neutralized product with (e) a polyamine having two or more amino groups and/or imino groups, wherein the polyol contains at least one selected from the group consisting of polycarbonate diols each having a structural unit derived from a diol having a branched structure with an integer of 3 to 10 carbon atoms and polycarbonate diols having a structural unit derived from a diol having a linear structure with an odd number of 3 to 9 carbon atoms, and the polyhydric alcohol contains a polyhydric alcohol having at least three or more active hydrogens.
CARPET TILES AND METHODS OF THEIR MANUFACTURE
A carpet tile comprises a primary backing layer comprising a flexible substrate with fiber tufts extending through and from one surface of the substrate to define, in use, the upper wear surface of the tile. A pre-coat adhesive layer formed from an aqueous copolymer dispersion is provided on the opposite surface of the primary backing substrate to secure the fiber tufts to the substrate and a secondary adhesive layer formed from an aqueous copolymer dispersion is provided on the pre-coat adhesive layer. A fiberglass scrim is secured to the secondary adhesive layer and an outer backing or cap layer covers the fiberglass scrim.
METHOD OF APPLYING A THEROMPLASTIC POLYMER COATING
The invention comprises a method. The method comprises applying a quantity of an aqueous dispersion of thermoplastic polymer particles to a primary backing and loop backs of a tufted carpet or a tufted synthetic turf, wherein the thermoplastic particles have an average particle size less than 1,000 microns. The method also comprises heating the aqueous dispersion to a temperature sufficient to remove water therefrom, and heating the thermoplastic particles on the primary backing and loop backs to a temperature at or above the melting temperature of the thermoplastic particles. The method further comprises allowing the heated thermoplastic polymer particles to cool below their melting temperature whereby the loop backs are adhered to the primary backing.
Methods and systems from recycling carpet and carpets manufactured from recycled material
The present invention pertains to carpet and methods of making and recycling carpet. In one aspect, the carpet includes: a primary backing which has a face and a back surface; a plurality of fibers attached to the primary backing and extending from the face of the primary backing and exposed at the back surface of the primary backing; an adhesive composition backing; and an optional secondary backing adjacent to the adhesive backing.
