A hand-held rotary device for tightening skin and tissue includes a handle attached to a cylindrical roller bar. A device and a method of applying vibration on a muscle for improving muscle contraction are disclosed. The device includes a motor. The device includes an adhesive strip. The adhesive strip is a reusable dual-sided adhesive strip. The adhesive strip removably mounts over a muscle or muscle group. The motor causes vibration and transmits the vibration to the muscle through the device and the adhesive strip, causing the user to concentrate on the muscle. The user detaches the device from one muscle or muscle group, and attaches to a different muscle or muscle group. The vibration caused by the motor helps the user to concentrate on the muscle during exercise, assisting with mind-muscle connection, which helps to improve muscle contraction.

This patent relates to the field of peripheral sensorimotor stimulation for the relief of symptoms and physical signs of distress including pain and anxiety and more specifically to addiction withdrawal. Peripheral stimulation of mechanoreceptors has been showed in a unique amplitude and frequency range to induce central effects of release of dopamine with a prolonged duration beyond stimulation in a model of addiction. Such stimulation can serve as an effective bridge during withdrawal from known addicting substances, including chemicals and behaviors, thus mitigating symptoms and potentially facilitating the cessation of drugs or substance seeking behavior. Interferential beat frequencies can be induced into the body using separately located sources of vibration to localize maxima and minima of stimulation. A conforming seat consisting of two separately driven halves induces a traveling wave due to interference or formation of beat frequencies which are driven in the therapeutic range to mitigate the symptoms and signs of withdrawal.
