WATER-REPELLENT AND LIPOPHILIC COMPOSITE NEEDLE-PUNCHED NONWOVEN FABRIC AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

The invention relates to a water-repellent and lipophilic composite needle-punched nonwoven fabric and a preparation method thereof. The method comprises the following steps: blending a PET fiber and a polyolefin-based fiber in a mass ratio of 3:1-1:3, and performing needle punching to obtain a composite needle-punched nonwoven fabric; carrying out hot-drying treatment on the composite needle-punched nonwoven fabric at 110-160° C. for 40-90 min; and carrying out water-repellent finishing on the hot-dried fabric using 50-70 mL/L of an aqueous solution of a modified resin-based fluorine-free waterproofing agent, and drying to obtain the water-repellent and lipophilic composite needle-punched nonwoven fabric, wherein the water-repellent finishing is dip rolling, the air pressure is 1.8 kPa and the liquid carrying rate is 160-230%. The preparation method of the invention is simple, and the prepared composite needle-punched nonwoven fabric has significantly improved water repellency, lipophilicity and tensile strength compared with the fabric before treatment.

Also disclosed is an organic fine particle containing: (1) a hydrophobic monomer which has one ethylenically unsaturated double bond and at least one hydrocarbon group having 3-40 carbon atoms; or (2) a polymer which has a repeating unit formed from a (meth)acrylic monomer having a polydimethylsiloxane group. Also disclosed is a method for producing the organic fine particle and a water-repellent composition which is an aqueous dispersion of the organic fine particle. Also disclosed is a textile product and method for treating the same which includes applying a treatment liquid containing the water-repellent composition to the textile product.

Another aspect of the invention provides a protective garment comprising a water repellent material comprising a polyester base and polyurethane coating having a combined weight of 70 to 100 grams per square meter. Such a protective garment could include a gown, drape, or bib, for example.

WATER-REPELLENT SOFTENING AGENT

A softening agent composition including (1) a silicone polymer, (2) a water-repellent polymer, (3) an emulsifier, and (4) a liquid medium that is water or a mixture of water and an organic solvent. Also disclosed is a method for producing the softening agent composition which includes producing a water-repellent polymer by polymerizing, in the presence of the silicone polymer, a monomer that constitutes the water-repellent polymer. The water-repellent polymer may be at least one selected from the group consisting of fluorine-containing polymers and non-fluorine-containing polymers. Also disclosed is a method for treating a substrate with the softening agent composition and a substrate treated with the softening agent composition.

Water-repellent resin, water-repellent fabric, and fabricating method thereof

A water-repellent fabric includes a base cloth and a water-repellent resin. The water-repellent resin is disposed on the base cloth, in which a method of fabricating the water-repellent resin includes the following steps. A first thermal process is performed to mix a polyol, a cross-linking agent, and a choline to form a first mixture, in which a reaction temperature of the first thermal process is between 90° C. and 120° C. A second thermal process is performed to mix the first mixture and a water repellent to form the water-repellent resin, in which the water repellent includes a hydroxyl group, an amino group, or combinations thereof, and a reaction temperature of the second thermal process is between 120° C. and 150° C.

COMPOSITE NYLON AND POLYESTER WOVEN FABRIC

A ripstop woven fabric woven from a combination of nylon yarn and polyester yarn. The nylon yarn forms between 40% to 80% of the woven fabric while the polyester yarn forms between 20% to 60% of the finished woven fabric. The fabric may be woven in a ripstop pattern. The face side of the ripstop fabric may be coated with one or more of a durable water repellent (DWR) and silicone coating, while the back side of the ripstop fabric is coated with a polyurethane coating. The ripstop fabric has an uncoated fabric weight range of between 23 and 40 GSM while the ripstop fabric has a coated fabric weight range of between 29 and 50 GSM.
