The colored resin sheet has a combination of a lightness L* value and an average value of light transmittances for an entire visible light range of a wavelength of 380 to 780 nm, respectively, of: a) 15 or less, and 15% or more; b) greater than 15 and less than or equal to 35, and 25% or more; or c) greater than 35 and less than or equal to 60, and 40% or more. A leather-like sheet includes a colored resin layer and a surface having a lightness L* value of 40 or less, and has an average value of visible light transmittances for the red range, of 5% or more.

Water-based polyurethane resin and manufacturing method thereof

A water-based polyurethane resin and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. The method for manufacturing the water-based polyurethane includes: a preparation step of a prepolymer, a dilution step of the prepolymer, a water dispersion and chain extension step, and an acrylic synthesis step. The method further includes mixing polyol and polyisocyanate to obtain a prepolymer, and diluting the prepolymer by adding acrylic monomer in the prepolymer. In the water-based polyurethane resin, at least one of the polyhydric alcohol, polyisocyanate, and the acrylic monomer includes a compound with a cyclic structure.

A faux leather biomaterial is disclosed. It may be made from shell seafood waste and coffee grounds with the aim to work as a sustainable alternative instead of prior art faux and animal leathers.

Curative

A curative for epoxidized plant-based oils and epoxidized natural rubber is created from the reaction between a naturally occurring polyfunctional acid and an epoxidized plant-based oil is disclosed. The curative may be used to produce at least one of six different materials, wherein each type of material may be configured as a thermosetting elastomer that is crosslinked with β-hydroxyester linkages. The materials may be configured as a leather-like material, a foam material, a molded elastomer, a coating, an adhesive, and/or a rigid or semi-rigid material. Illustrative articles made from any combination of the six materials may be recycled using a mechano-chemical process to de-crosslink the thermosetting elastomer.

Fungal textile materials and leather analogs

Textile compositions comprising at least one filamentous fungus are disclosed, as are methods for making and using such textile compositions. Embodiments of the textile compositions generally include at least one of a plasticizer, a polymer, and a crosslinker, in addition to the filamentous fungus. The disclosed textile compositions are particularly useful as analogs or substitutes for conventional textile compositions, including but not limited to leather.

Cross-linkable thermoplastic polyurethanes

The invention provides a cross-linkable mixture of thermoplastic polyurethanes and ethylenic unsaturated compounds and thermoset materials that can obtained therefrom. The invention also provides application of the cross-linkable mixtures and processes in a solvent-less coating process.

COMPOSITE SKIN MATERIAL FOR VEHICLE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

A composite skin material for a vehicle wherein a synthetic leather includes a surface resin layer having a plurality of openings, an adhesion layer present on the rear surface of the surface resin layer, and a fibrous base material present on the rear surface of the surface resin layer across the adhesion layer, and the adhesion layer is present only at the adherend part, except for the plurality of openings, in the rear surface of the surface resin layer, and the base material surface of the fibrous base material is bonded to the surface resin layer.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SHEET-LIKE PRODUCT

Provided is a production method in which a sheet-like article that has high moist heat resistance and has good surface quality and texture can be produced, regardless of the coagulation technique used for the polyurethane, by an environmentally friendly manufacturing process that is designed to cause reaction of a crosslinking agent while maintaining the texture possessed by the material before crosslinking. The production method for sheet-like articles is a sheet-like article production method characterized by impregnating a fibrous base material with water dispersed polyurethane as a binder, coagulating it to provide a sheet, adding a solution or dispersion liquid of a crosslinking agent to the sheet, and then heating it at a temperature of 100° C. or more and 200° C. or less.

ARTIFICIAL LEATHER FOR CRASH PADS AND CRASH PADS MANUFACTURED USING THE SAME

Disclosed are an artificial leather for crash pads and a crash pad manufactured using the same. The artificial leather for crash pads may have improved workability when workers directly cover a crash pad with the artificial leather for crash pads and require reduced manufacturing costs by using a textile substrate layer made of a circular knit fabric that satisfies a specific physical property range.
