METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATMENT OF CARDIOPULMONARY ARREST
A cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) device for performing automatic defibrillation and chest compressions on a patient and method for using same. The CPR device having a balloon configured to inflate/deflate, a belt configured to securely strap around a chest of a patient, a pair of electrode pads configured to deliver shock energy from a shock source, and, optionally, a pulse oximeter sensor. The CPR device is in electrical communication with a CPR defibrillator/ECG computer system that is configured to control the CPR device.
Administering the Noble Gas Argon during Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Method of treating an individual following a period of ischemia are provided. The methods include administering inhaled agents postconditioning to the individual and optionally simultaneously performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The inhaled agents include at least one noble gas.
CPR compression device and method
Improved automatic chest compression systems which use constricting belts, repeatedly inflating bladders, or reciprocating pistons to compress the chest. A bladder is placed between the chest and the particular mechanism used to compress the chest during CPR. The bladder maximizes the effectiveness of chest compressions.
Integrated resuscitation
An example of a CPR data recording system includes a hand-held chest compression measurement device and an external computing device communicatively coupled to the hand-held chest compression measurement device. The hand-held chest compression measurement device includes a housing, a motion sensor, a communication device, a memory disposed within the housing, and a processor disposed within the housing. The processor is configured to process a signal output from the motion sensor, calculate chest compression data from the processed signal output, evaluate the chest compression data after a delay from a start of the chest compressions to identify chest compressions that satisfy a pre-determined quality criterion, record the chest compression data in the memory, and send the recorded chest compression data to the external computing device via the communication device. The external computing device is configured to enable a review of the chest compression data.
Defibrillator display
An external defibrillator system is provided. The system includes: a graphical display; one or more sensors for obtaining data regarding chest compressions performed on a patient; and a controller configured to display on the graphical display numeric values for depth and/or rate of the chest compressions based upon the data from the one or more sensors. A method for using an external defibrillator including the steps of: obtaining data regarding chest compressions performed on a patient; and displaying on a graphical display screen of the defibrillator numeric values for depth and/or rate of the chest compressions based upon the data is also provided.
Dynamic sauna
Systems and methods are provided for controlling infrared radiation (IR) sources of a sauna including tuning IR wavelength-ranges and radiated power-levels of IR sources, and directing IR to locations on a user's body. In one illustrative embodiment, a sauna may be provided having adjustable heat sources to emit IR at any wavelength resulting in a desirable radiation treatment for the sauna user. In another illustrative embodiment, a method is provided for tuning IR sources in a sauna.
Systems, apparatus, and methods for documenting code blue scenarios
An apparatus may be configured for documenting a code blue scenario when adhered to the chest of a subject undergoing resuscitation by sensing and transmitting information associated with the code blue scenario. Such information may include one or more of vital signs of the subject during resuscitation, information associated with chest movements of the subject during resuscitation, and audio information from an environment of the subject during resuscitation. A computing platform that is separate and distinct from the apparatus may provide code blue documentation conveying information related to the vital signs of the subject and derived from the audio information from the environment of the subject during resuscitation.
Defibrillator Display Including CPR Depth Information
Systems and methods related to the field of cardiac resuscitation, and in particular to devices for assisting rescuers in performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) are described herein.
Enhanced guided active compression decompression cardiopulmonary resuscitation systems and methods
Systems and methods for applying enhanced guided active compression decompression cardiopulmonary resuscitation are provided. Exemplary systems include a load cell, a handle, an adhesive pad. The handle and the adhesive pad are configured for magnetic coupling.
Walking Aid and Monitor
Devices and systems are described including a walking aid including a linear rod, a hand grip disposed in proximity to a first end of the linear rod, two or more extendable and retractable load-bearing feet at a second end of the linear rod, at least one first sensor configured to detect a parameter of a walking surface, at least one second sensor configured to detect a parameter of the walking aid, a controller including input circuitry configured to receive information regarding the detected parameter of the walking surface from the at least one first sensor and actuation circuitry configured to actuate at least one of the two or more extendable and retractable load-bearing feet in response to the information regarding the detected parameter of the walking surface, and a transmission unit including circuitry configured to transmit the second sensor output to a computing device.
