Defibrillation system for self-driving vehicles
A defibrillation system may include a cardiac arrest detector detecting whether cardiac arrest of a passenger has occurred in a state of taking a seat of a self-driving vehicle and fastening a seatbelt of the vehicle; a passenger posture detection device detecting a posture of the passenger; a seat driving device changing the posture of the passenger into another posture in which the passenger lies down based on a detection signal of the passenger posture detection device when the cardiac arrest of the passenger occurs; a heart position detector configured to search for a position of a heart of the passenger; a defibrillation robot to perform a CPR method or a method using an AED on the heart of the passenger; and a controller controlling operation of the seat driving device, the heart position detector, and the defibrillation robot based on detection signals of the cardiac arrest detector and the passenger posture detection device.
MEDICAL VAST AND USING METHOD THEREOF
A medical vast and using method thereof. The medical vest has a clothe capable of surrounding the chest of a user's body, one or more vibration devices located in the clothe respectively and a motion sensor located in the clothe. Hence, when a user wears the medical vest and/or when the user actives one or more vibration devices to apply a net vibration force to the users' chest, the motion sensor may detect the user's real posture and/or both the vibration intensity and/or the vibration frequency of the vibration force applied to the user's chest. Accordingly, the user may adjust the vibration intensity and/or the vibration frequency of one or more vibration devices, also may adjust how the clothe is worn on the user's chest.
Multiple actuator vibration therapy
A method includes disposing a plurality of actuators about a subject, each actuator being configured to generate a respective vibration signal, each vibration signal applying a normal force to the subject, and controlling the plurality of actuators such that the respective vibration signal of each actuator of the plurality has a respective vibration characteristic. Each actuator is oriented such that the respective vibration signal propagates along a longitudinal axis of the subject for stimulation of the subject remote from the plurality of actuators.
Cooling garments, warming garments, and related methods
The present disclosure generally relates to intelligent garments that provide thermal regulation in a variety of environments. The garments may include different layers such as a hydrophobic layer in direct contact with a wearer's skin surface and saturated with an aqueous mixture, a spacer layer, a reflective layer, and an outer hydrophobic layer. The layers of the garment may work together to reduce the metabolic expenditure of the wearer in extreme environmental conditions or during demanding physical activity. A variety of sensors may be displaced throughout the garments so as to enable the collection of data associated with wearers as well as environmental conditions. Wearers may control the thermal balance and other properties of the garments as desired.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ASSISTING BREATHING IN A SUBJECT
A distension/compression device for assisting breathing in a subject is disclosed. In one embodiment, a first tube includes a flexible and elastic material that forms a first tube lumen extending from a proximal end to a distal end of the first tube. Longitudinal expansion of the first tube is restricted less than radial expansion of the first tube. A connection element including a first air supply port is in fluid communication with an open proximal end of the first tube lumen and attached to a proximal end of the first tube. A method for assisting breathing of a patient and a method for assisting the clearing of secretions is also included.
Auricular peripheral nerve field stimulator and method of operating same
An auricular peripheral nerve field stimulator includes at least one therapy electrode configured for percutaneous insertion into an auricle of a human ear near at least one neurovascular bundle, and an electrical stimulation device electrically coupled to the at least one therapy electrode, the electrical stimulation device programmed to generate and deliver electrical stimulation signals, with defined stimulation parameters, to the percutaneously inserted at least one therapy electrode to stimulate at least one auricular peripheral nerve field within the auricle, the defined stimulation parameters including a defined signal amplitude, a defined pulse frequency, a defined pulse width, a defined duty cycle and a defined stimulation signal duration.
Automatic chest compression systems that incorporate biological feedback
Automated CPR systems incorporating biological feedback can include an automated compression piston system, a data acquisition system, computer systems for running various control algorithms, ventilation control systems, and/or drug delivery systems. Automated CPR systems can be used as stand-alone systems for treating patients in cardiac arrest, or they can be used to administer pretreatment to a patient prior to defibrillation.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR ASSISTING BREATHING
The present invention provides, among other things, apparatus and methods of use for treating a subject in need of assistance with breathing. In some embodiments the subject suffers from airflow obstruction. In some embodiments, the subject suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
RESPIRATORY THERAPY VEST
Described herein are methods, devices and systems for respiratory therapy delivered by a therapy vest. A therapy vest is provided in which an independent body fitting function is provided by use of a body fit layer or compartment(s). The body fit layer or compartment(s) may be controlled independently from the therapy layer or compartment(s), such that the fit of the therapy vest is placed on more equal footing with the therapy delivering components of the therapy vest. Other examples are disclosed and claimed.
