Synchronization of repetitive therapeutic interventions

A medical device of the type used for assisting a user in manually delivering repetitive therapy to a patient (e.g., chest compressions or ventilations in cardiac resuscitation), the device comprising a feedback device configured to generate feedback cues to assist the user in timing the delivery of the repetitive therapy, at least one sensor or circuit element configured to detect actual delivery times, at which the user actually delivers the repetitive therapy, and a processor, memory, and associated circuitry configured to compare the actual delivery times to information representative of desired delivery times to determine cue times at which the feedback cues are generated by the feedback device.

Vibratory Expulsive Therapy For Urinary Stones
20220087897 · 2022-03-24 ·

The disclosure pertains to methods and devices for administering a vibration expulsion therapy (VET) to a subject to expulse a urinary stone. The method comprises circumferentially administering vibrations to a subject's torso to facilitate movement of a urinary stone through the urinary system or to alleviate pain associated with a urinary stone. In certain embodiments, the method comprises circumferentially administering vibrations to a subject via a vest configured to envelope and tightly fit contours on the subject's torso, particular, the subject's lower torso and cover the subject's kidneys, ureter, and/or urinary bladder. Further provided is a system comprising a processor and a computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by the processor, causes the processor to actuate a vest placed on the subject's torso to circumferentially administer vibrations to the subject's torso or a portion thereof.

Ventilator System Reporting

A medical system includes a manual patient ventilation unit defining an airflow path arranged so that when the unit is applied to a patient the airflow path is in fluid communication with the patient's airway. The patient ventilation unit includes a ventilation bag configured to enable manual ventilation of the patient by a rescuer, an airflow sensor in the airflow path positioned to sense the presence of ventilation airflow and measure a gas flow rate in the airflow path, and a pressure sensor in the airflow path positioned to sense gas pressure in the airflow path. The system also includes a processor arranged to receive data generated by the airflow sensor and the pressure sensor and determine one or more ventilation quality parameters based at least in part on a gas flow volume calculated based on the sensed gas flow rate and gas pressures.

Enhanced guided active compression decompression cardiopulmonary resuscitation systems and methods

Systems and methods for applying enhanced guided active compression decompression cardiopulmonary resuscitation are provided. Exemplary systems include a load cell, a handle, an adhesive pad. The handle and the adhesive pad are configured for magnetic coupling.

Systems and methods for delivery of repeated remote ischemic conditioning and monitoring compliance

A system for automated delivery and monitoring compliance for repeated remote ischemic conditioning treatments incudes at least one device for automated delivery of the therapy and at least one communications module to collect and record usage data. Reports of subject compliance with a predetermined schedule of therapy delivery is transmitted to the central database and a prescribing physician.

DYNAMIC SAUNA

Systems and methods are provided for controlling infrared radiation (IR) sources of a sauna including tuning IR wavelength-ranges and radiated power-levels of IR sources, and directing IR to locations on a user's body. In one illustrative embodiment, a sauna may be provided having adjustable IR emitters to emit IR at any wavelength resulting in a desirable radiation treatment for the sauna user. In another illustrative embodiment, a method is provided for tuning IR emitters in a sauna.

Artificial ventilation apparatus with ventilation modes suited to cardiac massage

Disclosed is a method of controlling a respiratory assistance apparatus delivering a flow of gas, particularly a flow of air, having the steps of measuring at least one parameter indicative of the flow of gas; converting at least one parameter indicative of the flow of gas into at least one signal indicative of the flow of gas; processing at least one signal indicative of the flow of gas in order therefrom to deduce at least one item of information relating to cardiac massage being performed on a patient in cardiac arrest; on the basis of at least one deduced item of information, automatically selecting a given ventilation mode from among a number of stored ventilation modes, and controlling the respiratory assistance apparatus by applying the selected ventilation mode. Respiratory assistance apparatus capable of implementing this control method.

Wireless ventilator reporting

Systems and methods regarding ventilation of a patient, such as a victim at the scene of an emergency are described herein.

OBTAINING, WITH A SLEEP-APNEA DEVICE, INFORMATION RELATED TO SLEEP-APNEA EVENTS AND SLEEP-APNEA TREATMENT, AND CORRELATING SLEEP APNEA EVENTS AND SLEEP-APNEA TREATMENT WITH SUBJECT LIFESTYLE AND WELLBEING

An embodiment of a system for treating sleep apnea includes a collar, pump, motor, sensor, memory, and controller, which is configured to store, in the memory, information related to sleep-apnea events or sleep-apnea treatment, experienced by the subject. For example, the controller can obtain, and store in the memory, information related to sleep-apnea events, and the controller, or another computing system, can correlate this information with the subject's lifestyle choices, and can recommend lifestyle changes to improve the subject's sleep apnea. Furthermore, the controller can obtain and store, in the memory, information related to usage and settings of the sleep-apnea system, and the controller, or another computing system, can correlate this information with the subject's wellbeing, and can recommend changes in the usage or the settings of the sleep-apnea system that can improve the subject's wellbeing.
