Travelling cable of an elevator, and an elevator
A travelling cable of an elevator, more particularly of a passenger transport elevator and/or freight transport elevator, includes a protective envelope, conductors for transmitting electrical energy and data between the elevator car and the elevator hoistway, and one or more load-bearing bearer parts of essentially the length of the travelling cable for fixing the travelling cable at its first end to the elevator car and at its second end to the elevator hoistway, and which bearer part includes glass-fiber reinforcements and/or aramid-fiber reinforcements and/or carbon-fiber reinforcements and/or polybenzoxazole-fiber reinforcements and/or polyethylene-fiber reinforcements and/or nylon-fiber reinforcements in a polymer matrix material. An elevator includes the travelling cable.
Tethers for airborne wind turbines using electrical conductor bundles
A tether may include a core, a hybrid layer surrounding the core, and a jacket surrounding the hybrid layer. The hybrid layer may include a plurality of strength members, and a plurality of electrical conductor bundles. Each electrical conductor bundle of the plurality of electrical bundles may include a compliant element, a plurality of electrical conducting elements surrounding the compliant element, and an insulating layer surrounding the plurality of electrical conducting elements.
Wired kernmantle
A wired kernmantle cord comprises a single continuous length of 20-30 AWG solid, stranded, or braided metal wire coaxially placed in the center of a bundle of seven nylon yarns. The seven yarns each comprise three twisted nylon fibers. The metal wire and the seven yarns thus form a kern that is sheathed inside a woven, braided outer mantle of nylon. The mantle sheathing is woven densely and tightly enough to keep the kern from appearing or working through, and it provides electrical insulation for the metal wire, and weather and abrasion resistance and other environmental protection for the whole.
HIGH STRENGTH SMALL DIAMETER FISHING LINE
Elongated bodies made from high tenacity polyolefin fibers are provided that are useful as fishing lines, and processes for making the lines. Fibers having tenacities of at least 39 g/denier are braided and fused together to form braided bodies having very small diameters.
Tethers for airborne wind turbines
A tether may include a core, a plurality of electrical conductors wound around the core, and a jacket surrounding the plurality of electrical conductors. The plurality of electrical conductors may include at least two groups of electrical conductors. Each group of electrical conductors of the at least two groups of electrical conductors may define a respective electrical path, where the respective electrical path is different from the electrical paths defined by other groups of electrical conductors of the at least two groups of the electrical conductors. Moreover, each group of electrical conductors of the at least two groups of electrical conductors is located around a respective portion of the core, such that a cross-section of each group of electrical conductors of the at least two or more electrical conductors defines a respective arc around the respective portion of the core.
Tensile conducting monofilament and conducting wire and manufacturing method thereof
The present disclosure relates to a tensile conducting monofilament and a conducting wire and a manufacturing method thereof. The tensile conducting monofilament is composed of a conducting filament and at least one tensile thread. The conducting filament is a flat conducting filament. The flat conducting filament is wound on the tensile thread. The conducting wire includes a circular conducting monofilament, at least one tensile conducting monofilament, and an insulation cover. The tensile conducting monofilament and the circular conducting monofilament are wrapped in the insulation cover. The method to manufacture a tensile conducting monofilament includes the steps of flattening a circular conducting monofilament to a flat conducting filament; and winding the flat conducting filament on at least one tensile thread. The method to manufacture a conducting wire includes the steps of stranding the tensile conducting monofilament and a circular conducting monofilament to be disposed in an insulation cover.
INDICATOR YARN CONSTRUCTION
The present invention is related to a yarn construction comprising fibres A and at least one indicator fibre, wherein the indicator fibre comprises fibre B and an elemental metal at least partially coating the surface of the fibre B, wherein fibre A and fibre B are dissimilar ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibres. The yarn constructions may be available in different forms, amongst others in ropes, straps, slings, fabrics and synthetic chains.
HIGH RESOLUTION HEADLINE SONAR CABLE
A non-steel headline sonar cable is provided having a strength member (5) and a core (1), the headline sonar cable comprising a length of a core-cable (10), the length of core-cable (10) comprising core (1) as well as comprising at least one fiber-optic conductor (2) that is: (i) disposed in a helical shape; and (ii) completely encased in a solid, flexible material. Also provided is a process for making a headline sonar cable. The headline sonar cable is capable of being wound on a winch under tensions and surging shocks experienced by a fishing trawler and provides high quality data signal transmission and resolution so as to permit use for transmitting data from high-resolution sonars used to monitor fish caught in a fish trawl during operation.
