The core 48 includes: a main body 56 including a cord 60 extending in a circumferential direction; and a stretchable portion 58 formed from a crosslinked rubber. The stretchable portion 58 is located inward of the main body 56 in an axial direction. The stretchable portion 58 has a size with which at least one cross-section of the cord 60 can be included therein in a cross-section of the bead 30. Preferably, in the tire 22, the main body 56 includes a hard unit and a soft unit. The soft unit is located outward of the hard unit in a radial direction. A hard cord of the hard unit stretches more easily than a soft cord of the soft unit.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A LOAD BEARING CABLE, AS WELL AS A LOAD BEARING CABLE
A device 100 produces an endless winding cable 101 by winding a yarn 106 around two thimbles 102, 104. The device 100 comprises an elongated guide 110, a carriage 112, a yarn feeder 114, a first thimble holder 116, and a second thimble holder 118. The first thimble holder 116 and the second thimble holder 118 each hold one of the two thimbles 102, 104. The carriage 112 is movable relative to the elongated guide 110. The yarn feeder 114 is connected to the carriage 112, and comprises at least one spool holder 120 for holding a spool 122 with the at least one yarn 106, and an output guide 124 for guiding the at least one yarn 106 to the cable during winding. The yarn feeder 114 comprises at least one yarn brake 126 for controlling a tension of the at least one yarn 106 during winding.
TENSION MEMBER FOR ELEVATOR SYSTEM BELT
A belt for an elevator system includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a belt width and extending longitudinally along a length of the belt. Each tension member includes a core member formed from a plurality of load carrying fibers, and a plurality of overwrap members surrounding the core member. A jacket material at least partially encapsulates the plurality of tension members. An elevator system includes a hoistway, an elevator car positioned in the hoistway and movable therein, and a belt operably connected to the elevator car to suspend and/or drive the elevator car along the hoistway. The belt includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a belt width and extending longitudinally along a length of the belt. Each tension member includes a core member formed from a plurality of load carrying fibers, and a plurality of overwrap members surrounding the core member.
ROPE MADE OF TEXTILE FIBER MATERIAL
The invention relates to a rope made of a textile fibre material for applications in which a diagonal pull may occur, characterized in that the rope is a core/sheath rope the core (1) of which and the sheath of which are composed essentially of a textile fibre material the core (1) of which is stranded and which exhibits a force-fitting winding with a tensile element (2, 2, 2) between the core (1) and the sheath.
Security Devices
A security device has a flexible strap (26) with a lock unit (28) attached at each end. The strap (26) comprises a plurality of longitudinally extending multi-filament cables or ropes (2) arranged in a substantially planar array embedded in an elastomeric material (4). The cables or ropes (2) have a coating of primer for creating a bond with the elastomeric material (4). The primer may be restricted to the external surface of the cables or ropes (2), or some of the surfaces of the filaments may be free of primer. This facilitates relative movement of the filaments during flexure or compression of the strap (26). Moreover, an extrusion process for manufacturing the strap (26) including a priming station (12) is disclosed.
ELEVATOR SYSTEM SUSPENSION MEMBER
A belt for suspending and/or driving an elevator system component include one or more metallic cord tension elements extending along a length of the belt, and one or more non-metallic tension elements extending along a length of the belt. Each non-metallic tension element is formed from a non-metallic material. The one or more metallic cord tension elements and the one or more non-metallic tension elements are arrayed laterally across a lateral width of the belt. The belt may be used in an elevator system including a hoistway, a drive machine having a traction sheave coupled thereto, an elevator car movable within the hoistway. The belt is operably connected to the elevator car and interactive with the traction sheave to suspend and/or drive the elevator car along the hoistway.
Hoisting rope and hoisting apparatus
A hoisting rope for a hoisting apparatus has a longitudinal direction, a thickness direction and a width direction, and includes a group of load bearing members made of composite material comprising reinforcing fibers embedded in polymer matrix; and a coating encasing the group of load bearing members; wherein the load bearing members extend in an untwisted manner inside the coating parallel with each other as well as with the longitudinal direction of the rope throughout the length thereof, the load bearing members being substantially larger in width direction than in thickness direction of the rope and stacked against each other in thickness direction of the rope. An elevator includes the hoisting rope.
ELEVATOR SUSPENSION AND/OR DRIVING ASSEMBLY HAVING AT LEAST ONE TRACTION SURFACE COMPRISING EXPOSED WEAVE FIBERS
An exemplary elongated elevator load bearing member includes a plurality of tension elements that extend along a length of the load bearing member. A plurality of weave fibers transverse to the tension elements are woven with the tension elements such that the weave fibers maintain a desired spacing and alignment of the tension elements relative to each other. The weave fibers at least partially cover the tension elements. The weave fibers are exposed and establish an exterior, traction surface of the load bearing member.
Wired kernmantle
A wired kernmantle cord comprises a single continuous length of 20-30 AWG solid, stranded, or braided metal wire coaxially placed in the center of a bundle of seven nylon yarns. The seven yarns each comprise three twisted nylon fibers. The metal wire and the seven yarns thus form a kern that is sheathed inside a woven, braided outer mantle of nylon. The mantle sheathing is woven densely and tightly enough to keep the kern from appearing or working through, and it provides electrical insulation for the metal wire, and weather and abrasion resistance and other environmental protection for the whole.
