Metal coating of load bearing member for elevator system
A belt for an elevator system includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a belt width and a jacket material at least partially encapsulating the plurality of tension members defining a traction surface, a back surface opposite the traction surface together with the traction surface defining a belt thickness, and two end surfaces extending between the traction surface and the back surface defining the belt width. A metallic coating layer is applied via deposition of solid particles over at least one end surface of the two end surfaces.
STEEL WIRE ROPE, ELEVATOR PROVIDED WITH STEEL WIRE ROPE, LUBRICANT FOR STEEL WIRE ROPE, AND USE OF LUBRICANT FOR LUBRICATING THE STEEL WIRE ROPE
The object of the invention is a traction sheave elevator and a steel rope that comprises metal as a load-bearing material, such as the suspension rope of an elevator, which rope comprises at least one or more strands laid from metal wires and which rope is lubricated with a lubricant. Another object is the use of the aforementioned lubricant for lubricating a steel rope. The lubricant comprises at least oil and powder substance, which powder substance comprises at least particles whose shape substantially spherical or almost spherical, and preferably the hardness of at least part of the particles is greater than 4 on the Mohs scale.
STEEL WIRE ROPE, ELEVATOR PROVIDED WITH STEEL WIRE ROPE, LUBRICANT FOR STEEL WIRE ROPE, AND USE OF LUBRICANT FOR LUBRICATING THE STEEL WIRE ROPE
A wire rope is disclosed that comprises metal wires, preferably steel wires, as a load-bearing material, which rope comprises at least one or more strands laid from said metal wires and which rope is lubricated with a lubricant. Another object is the use of the aforementioned lubricant for lubricating a steel rope. The lubricant comprises at least oil and powder substance, which powder substance comprises at least particles whose hardness is greater than 4 on the Mohs scale.
A traction sheave elevator comprising such a wire rope as a suspension rope is disclosed, too.
Electroless metal coating of load bearing member for elevator system
A belt for an elevator system includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a belt width, a jacket material at least partially encapsulating the plurality of tension members defining a traction surface, a back surface opposite the traction surface together with the traction surface defining a belt thickness, and two end surfaces extending between the traction surface and the back surface defining the belt width. A metallic coating layer applied from a liquid solution is positioned over at least one end surface of the two end surfaces.

Rope structure with improved bending fatigue and abrasion resistance characteristics
A rope structure adapted to engage a bearing structure while under load comprises a plurality of fibers, a matrix, and lubricant particles. The plurality of fibers is adapted to bear the loads applied to the ends of the rope structure. The matrix surrounds at least a portion of some of the plurality of fibers. The lubricant particles are supported by the matrix such that at least some of the lubricant particles are arranged between at least some of the fibers to reduce friction between at least some of the plurality of fibers and at least some of the lubricant particles are arranged to be between the bearing structure and at least some of the plurality of fibers to reduce friction between the bearing structure and at least some of the plurality of fibers.
