Elevator having a suspension
09695014 · 2017-07-04 · ·

An elevator includes a car, a counterweight, a suspension working together with the car and the counterweight, and a wheel at least partially wound around by the suspension. The suspension includes a tie beam arrangement with two tie beams and an encasing shell wherein a ratio of the width of the suspension to the height thereof is in a range between one and three. The wheel includes a flute having a flat base for guiding the suspension. When the suspension is unloaded, there is an air gap between the suspension and a guide region of the flute. The suspension is ovalized under loading to close the air gap. The shell is coated, at least in areas, on the outer surface thereof, wherein the coating optionally has a friction-reducing, friction-increasing, and/or wear-detecting effect.

An improved top down furling system includes one or more improved components. A lower rotary drive unit with a rotary tack swivel rotates against a fixed portion of the furler, or is configured to permit routing of the tack line below the unit. The system may include an anti-torsion cable constructed in a manner so as to be able to transmit torque without excessive tension applied to the cable. The system also may include an end terminal of the anti-torsion cable having a quick side mount or bayonet type connection to the rotary drive unit.

STEEL CORD WITH REDUCED RESIDUAL TORSIONS
20170073888 · 2017-03-16 · ·

A steel cord for reinforcing a breaker or belt ply in a rubber tire having a core group and a sheath group. The core group consists of two to four core steel filaments with a first diameter dc and the sheath group consists of one to six sheath steel filaments with a second diameter ds. The ratio dc/ds of the first diameter dc to the second diameter ds ranges from 1.10 to 1.70. The two core steel filaments are untwisted or have a twisting step greater than 300 mm. The sheath group is twisted around the core group with a cord twisting step in a cord twisting direction. The ratio of the difference in residual torsions of the core group and the sheath group to the difference in saturation level between the core group and the sheath group ranges from 0.10 to 0.65, preferably from 0.10 to 0.60.

Steel cord and manufacturing process therefor

A steel cord and a manufacturing process are disclosed. The steel cord includes a steel core wire located in the center and having a diameter of d; and M sheath-layer steel wires arranged around the steel core wire in the center, tangent to the steel core wire, and having a diameter of d1, at least two gaps L existing between the M sheath-layer steel wires, where M is 4; d, d1, and L satisfy the following relationship: 0.420<(d/d1)<0.800, d1 is between 0.20 mm and 0.44 mm, and L0.0008 mm. The steel cord of the present invention may allow rubber to be fully penetrated into the gaps, thereby reducing air content in the steel cord, avoiding point contact friction between the layers of steel wires due to insufficient rubber penetration, and further solving the problem of failure of the bearing capacity of the steel cord due to abrasion.

ROPE ASSEMBLY

The present invention relates to a rope assembly (1) consisting of at least one rope (2) that is made of textile fibre material and is folded back to form two substantially parallel rope portions (2, 2), wherein load distribution between the two rope portions is enabled and the rope portions are surrounded by a common sleeve (4). The rope assembly according to the invention is particularly suitable as a winch rope or as a rope for drive pulley drives, e.g., as a lift cable, in Koepe hoists and in capstans.

Cable, strand, and method and device for producing a cable and a strand

The invention relates to a laid cable (1-1b), in particular a laid fiber cable (1-1b) or a laid hybrid cable, comprising at least one core strand or a laid core cable (2-2b) and at least one outer strand (7-7b) surrounding the core strand or the core cable (2-2b), the core strand, the core cable (2-2b) and/or the at least one outer strand is composed of at least one fiber line (9-9b, 10-10b). The at least one fiber line (9-9b, 10-10b) is beneficially made of a composite material having reinforcing fibers (12), the reinforcing fibers (12) of which composite material are laid to form at least one reinforcing line (11). Advantageously, a laid cable which is stable under transverse pressure is provided. The invention also relates to a strand, to a method for manufacturing a cable and a strand, to an apparatus for producing a cable and/or a strand, as well as an apparatus with a drum drive, said apparatus comprising a cable according to the invention.
