Bolus dose of hydroxycitric acid with glycerol
A method of delivering a daily dose of hydroxycitric acid in the form of a salt as a single bolus that is as effective or more so than the same amount of active delivered via two or three administrations (b.i.d. or t.i.d.) using current delivery modalities. The method reduces the rate of occurrence of common adverse events with hydroxycitric acid salts, and reduces the occurrence of reverse effects on diets high in fat and/or alcohol. The method improves the uptake of the active compound thereby reducing the dose required.
DRAINAGE SYSTEM WITH RETENTION RING
In one general aspect, the present disclosure provides a drainage system. The drainage system may include a container having an interior and a mouth, the mouth having an outer surface and an opening. A frangible seal may cover the opening. A cap may be secured to the mouth, and the cap may be in fluid communication with a drainage line. The cap may have an inner surface for engaging with the outer surface of the mouth. The drainage system may further include a retention ring with a collar having an inner surface configured to engage an outer surface of the cap, where the retention ring includes a bead for at least partially concentrating a restriction force provided by the retention ring on an adjacent area of the outer surface of the cap.
Compact Pill Bottle Cap Requiring Biometric Authentication for Removal
A pill bottle cap provides access to authorized users using a biometric authentication feature. The pill bottle cap broadly includes: a shroud; a plurality of clamp members, each movably mounted to the shroud; a drive member interconnected with each of the clamp members to cause the clamp members to move in a first direction when the drive member is actuated in a first direction, and to cause the clamp members to move in a second direction when the drive member is actuated in a second direction; an actuator configured to actuate the drive member to selectively move in each of the first and second directions; and biometric identification module coupled to the actuator, and configured to activate the actuator to cause the selective movement upon identification of an authorized user. Each of the components are configured and positioned to minimize a height and a volume of the pill bottle cap.
Prescription bottle cap assembly and medication management system
Described herein is a 3-dimensional interchangeable icon bottle cap assembly, or cap with textured indicia, with top plates that interface with prescription bottle caps using icons, graphics and colors that help patients understand when to take their medication, what the medication is for, and provide the ability to keep track of medication compliance.
DRUG DELIVERY KIT, AND APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PREPARING DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM
Disclosed is a drug delivery kit, including an apparatus for preparing a drug delivery system, which includes therein a drug carrier in a gel phase or a solid phase under the airtight condition, and has therein a mixing space configured such that a drug for forming a drug delivery system with the drug carrier is injected from the outside and is mixed with the drug carrier, and a syringe for injecting the drug into the apparatus for preparing a drug delivery system. Also, an apparatus for preparing a drug delivery system, which can be applied to the drug delivery kit, and a method of preparing a drug delivery system using the apparatus are provided. The drug delivery system can be easily prepared on site, whereby the drug can be delivered in vivo.
Evacuated bottle system
An evacuated bottle system including a bottle defining a hollow interior, the bottle having a neck with a rim defining an opening; a cap assembly supported on the bottle, the cap assembly including a funnel having a first portion and a second portion, the first portion being insertable within the interior of the bottle and the second portion engaging a portion of the bottle to support the funnel above the rim, the funnel defining a bore that fluidly communicates with the hollow interior of the bottle; a self-sealing membrane that covers the bore formed by the funnel to selectively seal the hollow interior of the bottle; a cap attachable to the bottle, the cap including a cover portion that extends at least partially over the self-sealing membrane to restrain movement thereof, the cover portion being axially spaced from the self-sealing membrane to define a gap that permits axial movement of the self-sealing membrane to selectively open the bottle to fluid communication outside of the bottle.
Room temperature stable lyophilized protein
Stable lyophilized therapeutic protein compositions and their methods of manufacture are provided. Specifically, the use of water as a solid cake plasticizer and protein stabilizer is described. Also, the inclusion of a multicomponent stabilizer comprising a larger molecular entity and a smaller molecular entity is described. Also, the inclusion of post-drying annealing under certain conditions improves protein stability. Proteins are predicted to remain stable over 24 months at 25° C.
Holding device for the flexible treatment of pharmaceutical packaging materials
A container holding device for holding one or more containers includes: a base plate having an upper surface, a bottom surface, and one or more holes each extending from the upper surface to the bottom surface and having a central symmetry axis L.sub.axis orthogonal to the base plate; and two or more holding elements that are located around each hole beneath the bottom surface of the base plate. The holding elements are configured to: contact an outer surface of a container that is placed into the container holding device at a bottom edge of a top region of the container, such that the container hangs in the container holding device in a first position p1 in which the holding elements do not exert any force on the outer surface of the container that is radial; and contact the outer surface of the container in a shoulder region.
FLUID TRANSFER CONNECTOR
A fluid transfer connector or adapter for coupling to a container or pharmacy bottle for facilitating the transfer of fluid or medicine from the bottle to a syringe, or from the syringe to the bottle. Optionally, an additional connector can be provided for coupling the fluid transfer connector to the syringe.
MEDICATION PACKAGING AND DOSE REGIMEN SYSTEM
A medication container includes a body comprising a neck portion and defining a cavity that includes at least one compartment. At least one closure member disposed with the neck portion in alignment with at least one of the at least one compartment, the at least one closure member being rotatable relative to the body. The at least one closure member is movable between a medication accessible configuration and a tamper resistant configuration. Systems and methods of use are disclosed.
