SPUN YARN, AND YARN AND CLOTH INCLUDING SPUN YARN
A spun yarn that includes at least a first short fiber that is a piezoelectric fiber that generates a potential by applied external energy, and that has a length of 800 mm or less. The spun yarn preferably includes a plurality of short fibers that are twisted together with each other.
Biomineralization promoting materials and methods of forming same
Bone tissue biomimetic materials, biomimetic constructs that can be formed with the materials, and methods for forming the materials and constructs are described. The bone tissue biomimetic materials include electrospun nanofibers formed of polymers that are conjugated with peptides that include acidic amino acid residues. The materials can incorporate high levels of mineralization so as to provide mechanical strength and promote osteogenesis and/or osteoconductivity on/in the bone tissue biomimetic materials. The materials and constructs can be utilized in forming tissue engineered structures for in vitro and in vivo use. Macroscopic bone tissue biomimetic scaffolds formed from the materials can be seeded with osteogenic cells and utilized to develop bone graft materials that can exhibit strength and osteoconductivity similar to the native bone and that exhibit uniform distribution of nutrients in the scaffolds.
CELL CULTURE SUBSTRATE MADE OF NONWOVEN FABRIC MANUFACTURED USING ELECTROSPINNING AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A cell culture substrate used for growing mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) while maintaining the differentiation potency of the mesenchymal stem cells includes a nonwoven fabric made of resin fibers spun using an electrospinning method. The nonwoven fabric includes a plurality of resin fibers having outer diameters of 10-50 μm. The plurality of resin fibers are intertangled in random directions. A mesh structure is formed by the intertangled plurality of resin fibers adhering and joining together at locations where the resin fibers contact one another. The mesh structure forms mesh openings that have a substantially elliptical shape with a diameter of 100-200 μm and that are surrounded by curved fibers. Innumerable air bubble pores having diameters of 0.1-3 μm are formed over the entire surface of the fibers making up the nonwoven fabric.
THREAD
A thread that includes a first fiber having at least one groove extending in a length direction thereof; and at least one second fiber constructed to generate a potential by external energy. The second fiber is disposed in a region corresponding to the groove of the first fiber such that a space is between the groove of the first fiber and the second fiber.
Functionally Gradient Material for Guided Periodontal Hard and Soft Tissue Regeneration and A Preparation Method Thereof
A functionally gradient material for guided periodontal hard and soft tissue regeneration includes a 3D printed scaffold layer and an electrospun fibrous membrane layer. The content of hydroxyapatite in the 3D printed scaffold layer is higher than the content of hydroxyapatite in the electrospun fibrous membrane layer. The pore size of the 3D printed scaffold layer is larger than the pore size of the electrospun fibrous membrane layer. The pore size of the 3D printed scaffold layer is 100-1000 μm, and the fiber diameter of the electrospun fibrous membrane layer is 300-5000 nm. The electrospun fibrous membrane layer is in a random distribution or an oriented arrangement or has a mesh structure. The thickness of the electrospun fibrous membrane layer is 0.08-1 mm.
STABLE CONDUCTIVE MYOCARDIAL PATCH WITH NEGATIVE POISSON'S RATIO STRUCTURE AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
A stable conductive myocardial patch with a negative Poisson's ratio structure is provided. The preparation method includes preparing a myocardial patch substrate with concave polygons as the structural units by weaving or knitting, and then a conductive coating is coated on the surface of the substrate. Alternatively, the yarns can be processed into conductive coated yarns first, and then used as the raw material to weave or knit a stable conductive myocardial patch with a negative Poisson's ratio structure. The prepared myocardial patch has a relative resistance change of less than 5% at 50% tensile strain. When the strain of the structural units is within 50%, the fabric exhibits a negative Poisson's ratio structure, which expands in the perpendicular direction of the tensile load. The fabric exhibits a negative Poisson's ratio effect and anisotropy of Young's modulus, which matches the mechanical behavior of natural myocardium.
METHOD FOR THERMAL MOLDING OF FILAMENT PRODUCT
Provided is a thermal molding method for producing a thermally molded article having excellent abrasion resistance at its melt-fused part. Polyamide 6 and a copolyester are prepared separately. The copolyester contains terephthalic acid, ethylene glycol, and 1,4-butanediol as copolymerization units. The copolyester may further contain ε-caprolactone and/or diethylene glycol as a copolymerization unit. A multifilament yarn in which core-sheath type composite filaments each containing a core component and a sheath component at a ratio of 1 to 4:1 by mass are bundled is produced by a composite melt-spinning method using the polyamide 6 as the core component and the copolyester as the sheath component. Using the multifilament yarn, a product of filaments is produced by weaving, knitting, knitting and braiding, or braiding. The product of filaments is heated to melt the copolyester and fuse the core-sheath type composite filaments to each other while retaining the initial filament form of the polyamide 6, thus thermally molding the product of filaments.
