Shaped nonwoven
A nonwoven fabric. The nonwoven fabric can include a first surface and a second surface and a visually discernible pattern of three-dimensional features on one of the first or second surface. Each of the three-dimensional features can define a microzone comprising a first region and a second region. The first and second regions can have a difference in values for an intensive property, and wherein in at least one of the microzones, the first region is hydrophobic and the second region is hydrophilic.
Flame resistant textile
A flame resistant textile containing a plurality of warp yarns in a warp direction of the textile interwoven with a plurality of weft yarns in the weft direction approximately perpendicular to the warp direction. The warp yarns contain inherent FR polyester yarns having between about 1500 and 3500 ppm of a phosphorous based FR chemistry and the weft yarns contain polyester yarns. the textile contains more weft yarns by weight than warp yarns and wherein the FR textile contain about 1500 ppm or less of the phosphorous based FR chemistry.
Hydrophobic nano-silica mixed thermoplastic polyurethane coated yarn
A thermoplastic polyurethane coated yarn having excellent adhesive strength in which hydrophobic nano-silica is mixed. The nano-silica is contained in the range of 0.2-5 parts per hundred resin (phr) and the nano-silica having a primary particle size of in a range of 1-100 nm. The thermoplastic polyurethane coating yarn mixed with the hydrophobic nano-silica of the present invention is uniformly coated with a thermoplastic polyurethane resin containing nano-silica containing a hydrophobic functional group on the surface of the core yarn, whereby the core yarn is biased to one side. Since no coating or uncoating occurs, the product quality and productivity are excellent, in addition to excellent durability and wear resistance of the thermoplastic polyurethane, mechanical strength and chemical resistance are improved.
POLYMERIC FABRIC
The invention relates to a polymeric fabric comprising an outer functional layer having hydrophobic and oleophobic characteristics made of a first compound, and a second functional layer having hydrophobic characteristics made of a second compound, wherein the first and the second compound differ from each other. Further the outer functional layer at least partly coats the second layer. Additionally, the invention relates to a method of producing a polymeric fabric and an apparatus for producing a polymeric fabric.
Twisted yarns and methods of manufacture thereof
A yarn is produced by twisting an organic yarn and a synthetic yarn. The organic and synthetic yarns and twisting processes thereof may be selected to produce a twisted yarn with enhanced performance characteristics such as moisture management, abrasion resistance, and refit. The twisted yarn may be knitted into articles of clothing such as socks.
Bio-based polyelectrolyte complex compositions with increased hydrophobicity comprising fatty compounds
The invention relates to a bio-based polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) composition suitable as a binder for fiber based materials, textiles, woven and nonwoven materials, said PEC composition comprising cationic biopolymer, anionic biopolymer, acid and a preservative, and wherein the net charge of the PEC is cationic, the charge ratio of the anionic polymer and the cationic polymer is ≤1, the cationic biopolymer is chitosan, the anionic biopolymer is a polyanion derived from nature, the acid is a Brønsted acid and/or a Lewis acid, wherein the Brønsted acid is selected from any organic and/or inorganic acids, and wherein the Lewis acid is selected from any cationic mono- or multivalent atom, the weight ratio between cation and anion is 1:0.1 to 1:20, the weight ratio between the cation and acid is 1:0.01 to 1:30, chitosan has a degree of deacetylation being 66-100%, the pH is less than 7, and wherein said composition further comprises one or more fatty compounds as well as methods and use thereof. The present invention further relates to a method for preparing the PEC composition, uses of the PEC composition, as well as method of treating materials with the PEC composition.
POLYALPHA-1,3-GLUCAN ESTERS AND ARTICLES MADE THEREFROM
The disclosure generally relates to poly_alpha-1,3-glucan compositions and articles containing them. In particular interest are compositions comprising poly_alpha-1,3-glucan ester derivatives. The poly_alpha-1,3-glucan derivatives are useful in thermoprocesses and in particular, injection molding processes.
MULTI-PLY KNIT FABRIC
A multi-ply knit fabric containing a first knit ply containing a plurality of first and second yarns, where the first knit ply forms the upper surface of the fabric. The first knit ply contains a first knit pattern having a repeating pattern of first areas and second areas, where within the first areas the first and second yarns are knitted together and within the second areas the first yarns are knitted together and the second yarns float across approximately the entire second areas. The first areas and second areas have at least one dimension within the plane of the first ply knit of at least about 0.5 mm. The fabric also contains a second knit ply forming the lower surface of the fabric and a plurality of stuffer yarns located between the first and second knit ply.
