SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FREEZE-DRYING AND PACKAGING
Systems and methods for protecting biological or other material from contamination through the steps of filling, freeze-drying, packaging, storing and use are disclosed. A system can include a flexible container, at least two membranes configured to transmit air or solvent vapor out of the flexible container, and a port to allow for the introduction or withdrawal of a material or substance into or out of the flexible container. The system can optionally further comprise a membrane frame supporting at least one of the membranes and engaged with at least one column member. The at least one column member can be configured to maintain the membranes and the membrane frame a spaced distance from one or more materials received within the flexible container. Upon application of a downward force, the at least one column member can assume a collapsed configuration. A method can include inserting a biological material into a flexible container, freeze-drying the biological material, moving the freeze-dried biological material to a portion of the flexible container that includes at least one port, and sealing the biological material within the portion.
EXHAUST COLLECTION BAG FOR CRYOGENIC TREATMENT
An exhaust collection bag for cryogenic treatment is described herein and may generally comprise a first layer and a second layer attached along a periphery and forming an enclosed volume. The periphery defines four radiused corners and an extension member. A tubing connector may be positioned along the first layer and extend through the first layer and may also be located along a centerline of the first layer and in proximity to a bottom edge of the first layer. A drain closure may also be positioned along the first layer and located away from the centerline and in proximity to the bottom edge.
Drug or fluid delivery devices
A drug or fluid delivery device includes a pump having a control module. A cassette is removably mounted to the control module. A reservoir is contained within the cassette, and contains a fluid to be delivered to a patient. A protrusion extends from an interior surface of the cassette, creating and maintaining a crease in the reservoir as the fluid is emptied therefrom, thereby creating a fluid path along which the fluid travels to reduce occurrences of the reservoir deleteriously sealing off pockets of fluid as the reservoir is emptied.
Pouch container
A pouch container is provided with sack-like portions provided respectively to upper parts of the front-surface sheet and the rear-surface sheet.
Storage or infusion bottle
A storage or infusion bottle (1) has an integrally molded bottle neck (3) with a teat-shaped bottle feature (4, 5) projecting from its mouth end. The closed teat end wall (6, 7) of the bottle feature is puncturable by an infusion needle. A cap (8) is attachable to the bottle neck (3) and has a funnel-shaped cap feature (9, 10) with an interior space accommodating the free end region of the bottle feature (4, 5). The intermediate space between the end wall of the bottle feature (4, 5) and the opposing side of the cap feature (9, 10) is completely filled by a hat-shaped sealing element (11, 12) enclosing the bottle feature (4, 5) at least in its end region remote from the bottle (1).
Packaging for multiple containers
A container unit may be used to facilitate administrations of multiple medicinal fluids to a patient. A container unit may include a first container, a second container, and a carrier which holds the first container and the second container stationary relative to each other. The carrier may include a lip configured to engage a pooling device to secure the container unit to the pooling device. The carrier may also include a slot configured to engage an insert on the pooling device to guide the container unit as the container unit is secured to the pooling device. The carrier may also include a first portion and second portion with different shapes that are complementary to a shape of a port on the pooling device. The carrier may also include an extension which extends in a direction away from one of the first container to a level at least even with a stopper disposed in the first container. The container unit may include a lid including at least one rotation inhibitor configured to inhibit rotation of the lid about at least one axis. A plurality of container units may include container units having different volume containers while maintaining a congruent interface portions.
Enteral Feeding Bottle
An enteral feeding bottle is provided and includes a body having an exterior and an interior chamber. The body further includes an opening to the interior chamber of the body and a base and a flanged rim along the opening where the body is formed from a flexible material such as a silicone or a thermoplastic elastomer. The enteral feeding bottle also includes a connecting ring configured to interlock with the flanged rim of the body. The enteral feeding bottle also includes an enteral feeding device adaptor configured to removably connect with the connecting ring where the enteral feeding device adaptor includes an opening configured to be removably connected with an enteral feeding device. Once assembled, a seal is formed between the flanged rim, the connecting ring, and the enteral feeding device adaptor.
PRE-FILLED MULTI-FLUID MEDICAL DELIVERY ASSEMBLY
A medical system, comprises a reservoir module defining a longitudinal axis, including a Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) vial having a compressible body and a neck extending from the compressible main body. The compressible main body defines a first reservoir having a first fluid agent therein and a second reservoir having a second fluid agent therein. A first penetrable seal within the neck seals the first fluid agent and a second penetrable seal within the neck for sealing the second fluid agent.
Curved blood cassette system
A cylindrical container for holding one or more articles, such as blood bags. The cylindrical container may hold multiple curved article containers comprising the one or more articles arranged in a circle. The cylindrical holding container may embody a carousel shape for easy access to the curved article containers. The ends of the multiple curved article containers may overlap each other to nest into the cylindrical holding container. The cylindrical holding containers may be stackable. The cylindrical holding container may be placed in a cryogenic shipper or dewar, to secure and stabilize the articles within during transport.
Medicament container having a flexible sidewall
A medicament container including at least one sidewall and an extension is provided. The extension may be rigid in comparison to sidewalls that form the volume of the container. The extension may extend substantially into the volume of the container to a central region of the container. The container may include one or more ribs formed in the sidewalls to provide structural rigidity to the sidewalls.
