ARTICLES OF FOOTWEAR WITH UPPERS COMPRISING A WOUND COMPONENT AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME

Articles of footwear and methods of making articles of footwear including one or more continuous threads wound around anchor points. The winding of the one or more continuous threads forms a thread pattern that imparts desired characteristics to components of the article of footwear. Thread lines of the thread pattern may be bonded together. In some embodiments, thread lines may be bonded with a bonding layer.

Artificial Turf System

Artificial turf system (10) including a primary backing layer (12) and a shock absorption component (20). The primary backing layer (12) has a plurality of artificial turf yarns (14) projecting upwardly from the primary backing layer (12). The shock absorption component (20) is composed of a sheet of three-dimensional random loop material 3DRLM (30). The sheet of 3DRLM (30) is in contact with the primary backing layer (12). The shock absorption component (20) includes (i) a cushioning layer (40) and (ii) a shockpad (50). The 3DRLM (30) in the cushioning layer (40) has an apparent density that is greater than the apparent density of the 3DRLM (30) in the shockpad (50).

Shaped nonwoven

A nonwoven fabric is provided. The nonwoven fabric can include a first surface and a second surface and a visually discernible pattern of three-dimensional features on one of the first or second surface. Each of the three-dimensional features can define a microzone comprising a first region and a second region. The first and second regions can have a difference in values for an intensive property, wherein at least one of the surfaces has a TS7 value of less than about 15 dB V.sup.2 rms, and wherein the first surface has a TS7 value that is higher than the second surface TS7 value.

REFLECTIVE KNIT ARTICLE

A knit fabric is created using on a flatbed knitting machine to create a whole garment having an inner surface and an outer surface. The knit fabric includes a support matrix comprised of base yarns with reflective yarns supported on the support matrix. The knit fabric comprises a jacquard knit structure formed from the base yarns and the reflective yarns, wherein elongate loops of the reflective yarns are outwardly exposed from the outer surface of the knit fabric. The inner surface of the knit fabric includes outwardly exposed floats of the reflective yarns.

NON-WOVEN MICRO-TRELLIS FABRICS AND COMPOSITE OR HYBRID-COMPOSITE MATERIALS REINFORCED THEREWITH

A non-woven fabric is provided which includes a three-dimensional array of fibers. The three-dimensional array of fibers includes an array of standing fibers extending perpendicular to a plane of the non-woven fabric and attached to a base substrate, where the base substrate is one or more of an expendable film substrate, a metal base substrate, or a mandrel substrate. Further, the three-dimensional array of fibers includes multiple layers of non-woven parallel fibers running parallel to the plane of the non-woven fiber in between the array of standing fibers in a defined pattern of fiber layer orientations. In implementation, the array of standing fibers are grown to extend from the base substrate using laser-assisted chemical vapor deposition (LCVD).

The present disclosure provides a knitted component for an article of footwear. The knitted component may include a first side and a second side, where the first side and the second side form an overfoot portion. An underfoot portion may be located between the first side and the second side, where at least a portion of the first side and at least a portion of the second side of the knitted component are located on one of a medial side and a lateral side of the overfoot portion, and where a knitted course extends from the first side, through the underfoot portion, and to the second side.

Method of fabricating both a woven fiber preform and a composite material part

A method of fabricating a woven fiber preform that is impregnated with a matrix-precursor resin, the resin, in the raw state, presenting a glass transition temperature Tg.sup.0, includes: impregnating yarns or strands with the resin; feeding a loom with the impregnated yarns or strands maintained at a temperature in the range Tg.sup.0 to Tg.sup.0+10 C.; and weaving the yarns or strands in the loom in order to obtain the resin-impregnated woven fiber preform.

The invention relates to a knitted garment (1) with three-dimensional textile shaping for body curves (2, 2, 2). The aim with this type of knitted garment (1) is to achieve an optimal three-dimensional textile shaping with a large volume, where the knitted fabric neatly fits around even large volumes and visual breaks of the fit of the knitted fabric to the body are avoided. To this end, the three-dimensional textile shaping of the knitted part (5, 6) fitting around the body curve (2, 2, 2) or body curves (2, 2, 2) is achieved by: increasing, in the region of a body curve (2, 2, 2), in the knitted part (5, 6) covering said body curve, the number of stitches on the outer side of the knitted-fabric central piece predetermined on the basis of the body measurements, said increase extending for a plurality of rows of knitting, depending on the curve; then maintaining the number of stitches; and then decreasing the number of stitches, again on the outer side of the predetermined knitted-fabric central piece, wherein the knitting process is continuous without being temporarily interrupted for individual rows of stitches, as is the case when using a gusset technique or wedge-shaping technique.
