A transfer device for transferring a medical fluid from a vial to a medical fluid injection device includes a vial holder where a vial spike positioned within the vial holder is configured to enter a vial containing a medical fluid when the vial is inserted into the vial holder. An expansion chamber having an interior cavity is in fluid communication with the vial spike. A pressurized gas cartridge is positioned with the interior cavity of the expansion chamber, while a puncture tip is configured to puncture the pressurized gas cartridge when actuated by a user. The vial spike is also configured to be in fluid communication with an injection device attached to the transfer device.

Disclosed is a combination of an infusion set consisting of infusion tubing and needle connected to a drug cartridge, the latter comprising a cylindrical body of inner diameter and having an open rear end, wherein a stopper is slidably disposed within the body. In an initial state after the cartridge has been filled, the stopper is partially disposed within the body such that the stopper protrudes from the rear end of the body by a distance. Pushing the stopper into the cartridge by said distance, i.e. until the stopper is flush with the rear end, displaces a predetermined volume according to E, B and the cylindrical geometry of the cartridge, which is large enough to effect complete air priming of the cartridge, infusion tubing and infusion needle.

Apparatus for Transferring a Liquid Between a Storage Container and At Least One Further Use Container

An apparatus for transferring a liquid between a storage container and at least one further use container has a storage-container sealing portion for leaktight abutment of a main body of the transfer apparatus against the storage container. A hollow-needle assembly has a hollow needle. The hollow-needle assembly can be displaced in a linear manner along a movement axis relative to the main body by means of a gear mechanism between a retracted rest position and an extended connecting position. In the latter, the hollow needle creates a liquid connecting duct between the storage container and the transfer apparatus. A connecting portion serves to connect the transfer apparatus to the use container in a leaktight manner. A rotary-actuation element is operatively connected to the hollow-needle assembly via the gear mechanism. The gear mechanism has a driver ring that is mounted in the main body axially and so as to be rotatable about the movement axis. Said driver ring interacts with a complementary thread of the hollow-needle assembly for the displacement thereof. The driver ring is connected to the rotary-actuation element for conjoint rotation during the displacement. This results in a transfer apparatus having improved operational reliability, in particular when used by inexperienced patients.

The package (1) comprises a filled cavity portion (6a) containing the powdery material (2), optionally separated into groups of different composition, and a tab portion (9) integrally formed with the filled cavity portion (6a) and being swept around the filled cavity portion (6a) so as to define a roll-up package. The tab portion (9) forms a protective barrier that shields the powdery material (2), e.g. by counteracting transport of moisture into and out of the package. The tab portion (9) may also stabilize the package. The roll-up package is compact, and simple to manufacture and handle.

The distal end section includes a hole that is provided on a proximal end side in comparison to a distal end and on a distal end side of the tapered section, and communicates with the inside and the outside of a hollow needle, and a tapered puncture end portion. The distal end section has a total length of 7 to 14 mm and a maximum outer diameter of 1.5 to 3.0 mm. The tapered section has a length of 0.3 to 4.7 mm and a taper angle of 10° to 50°. The large-diameter section has a length of 4 mm or greater, and a distal end outer diameter that is greater than the maximum outer diameter of the distal end section by 0.6 to 3.0 mm.

The disclosed syringe adapter has an opening that is relatively large, as compared to a conventional needle, and thus affixing the disclosed syringe adapter to a syringe improves syringeability of higher-viscosity medications. Some embodiments feature a lateral extension that prevents inserting the syringe adapter too far into a medicine bottle, and some embodiments feature a component that assists in firmly grasping. When the disclosed syringe adapter is affixed to a pistol-grip or tab-handled syringe, the medication withdrawn into the pistol-grip syringe can be more easily administered from the syringe barrel. In some embodiments, the syringe adapter will be replaced with a needle prior to injecting the medication, while in some other embodiments, the needle is affixed to the in-place syringe adapter for the injection. In yet other embodiments, the needle is affixed to a needle holder that, in turn, is affixed to the in-place syringe adapter for the injection.

The assembly can crush pills and dissolve powders in a sealed cavity, deliver powder-dissolved liquid and prevent powders from dispersing.
