A method for manufacturing an absorbent core uses a feed device feeding crushed fiber, a first drum provided with a first area, where the crushed fiber is sucked and stacked, and a second drum provided with a second area, where the crushed fiber is sucked stacked, the second area being smaller than the first area, the method includes a step of forming a thick portion on the second area of the second drum by stacking the fiber fed from the feed device; a step of transferring the thick portion to a predetermined position in the first area; and a step of forming a thin portion on the first area of the first drum by stacking the fiber fed from the feed device around the transferred thick portion with the transferred thick portion placed on the first area.

ABSORBENT ARTICLES AND METHODS OF MAKING

An absorbent article comprising an absorbent core sandwiched between a liquid permeable topsheet and a liquid impermeable back-sheet, and an acquisition distribution system positioned between said topsheet and said absorbent core, wherein the absorbent core comprises absorbent material selected from the group consisting of cellulose fibers, superabsorbent polymers and combinations thereof, wherein said absorbent material is contained within at least one core wrap substrate enclosing said absorbent material, and wherein a top layer of said core wrap is adhered to a bottom layer of said core wrap to form one or more channels substantially free of said absorbent material, wherein said channels have a length extending along a longitudinal axis and the absorbent core has a length extending along said longitudinal axis and wherein the length of said channels is from 10% to 95% of the length of said absorbent core and wherein said channels each follow a substantially continuous path such as from a first end of a channel to a second end of the same channel wherein the acquisition distribution system is multi-layered and comprises at least one spunbond layer and at least one meltblown layer, and wherein said acquisition distribution system is positioned between said absorbent core and said topsheet such that said spunbond and/or meltblown layers are in direct contact with said absorbent core and said topsheet.

The plurality of three-dimensional features can have a first three-dimensional feature having a first intensive property having a first value and a second three-dimensional feature having the first intensive property having a second value different from the first value. The nonwoven substrate can have an MD Fuzz Value of less than 0.25 mg/cm.sup.2 when tested according to the Fuzz Level Test herein.

Absorbent article with conforming features

An absorbent has longitudinal and lateral centerlines, first, second, and target regions, the target region being disposed between the first second regions. Each of the first, second target regions extend laterally across the disposable absorbent article. The disposable absorbent article also has a topsheet; a backsheet; an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and backsheet; a fluid management layer disposed between the topsheet and absorbent core; and a target zone disposed in the target region. The target zone has a first plurality of conforming features in at least the absorbent core or a combination of the absorbent core and at least one of the topsheet or fluid management layer. The absorbent article also has a long fiber network.

Shaped Nonwoven

A nonwoven fabric. The nonwoven fabric can include a first surface and a second surface and a visually discernible pattern of three-dimensional features on one of the first or second surface. Each of the three-dimensional features can define a microzone comprising a first region and a second region. The first and second regions can have a difference in values for an intensive property. The nonwoven further has a plurality of apertures, wherein at least a portion of the aperture abuts at least one of the first region and the second region of the microzone.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL NONWOVEN MATERIALS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF

Three dimensional nonwoven materials and methods of manufacturing such materials are disclosed. In one embodiment, a nonwoven material comprising a plurality of fibers can include a first surface and a second surface. The first surface can be opposite from the second surface. The nonwoven material can include a plurality of nodes extending away from a base plane on the first surface. At least a majority of the plurality of nodes have an anisotropy value greater than 1.0 as determined by the Node Analysis Test Method.
