Oral dosage forms for delivery of therapeutic agents
Oral dosage forms for the delivery of therapeutic agents include mechanical fasteners for engaging tissue of the gastrointestinal tract.
Hard capsule having improved thickness uniformity
Provided is a hard capsule. The provided hard capsule includes water-soluble cellulose ether, about 0.5 parts by weight to about 1.5 parts by weight of a gelation agent based on 100 parts by weight of the water-soluble cellulose ether, and about 0 parts by weight to about 0.3 parts by weight of a gelation aid based on 100 parts by weight of the water-soluble cellulose ether, wherein the hard capsule comprises a body and a cap that seals the body, and a ratio of a maximum thickness to a minimum thickness of the body and the cap is each 2.5 or less.
ENCAPSULATION OF GASTRIC RESIDENCE SYSTEMS
Compactable gastric residence systems comprising therapeutic agent formulations for sustained gastric release of therapeutic agents are disclosed, as well as methods and systems for encapsulating such gastric residence systems. Hie methods and systems for encapsulating the gastric residence systems can be automated from receiving a bulk of gastric residence systems, orienting, placing, compacting, securing, and encapsulating the gastric residence systems.
Ingestible device with pharmaceutical product
A pharmaceutical product including a housing that defines a cavity, wherein the cavity stores a pharmaceutical material, and wherein the housing comprises a material configured to dissolve based on contact with a fluid, an ingestible device to encode information in a current signature, wherein the ingestible device is positioned within the housing, and a protective material that encompasses the ingestible device. The ingestible device may be attached to a flexible component, wherein the flexible component is configured to releasably secure the ingestible device within the housing.
Separable capsule for sprinkling applications
A comestible dosage form article, in the form of a hard capsule, for administration to a target subject, the dosage form comprising at least one body and at least one cap telescopically engageable with the body, the cap and the body being separable such to allow dispensing of a contents therefrom. The capsule comprising a sensory trigger over at least a portion of the outer surface of the capsule arranged to provide a visual, taste, and/or tactile deterrence to ingestion thereof.
Separable capsule
The present disclosure relates to a separable hard capsule for containing a medication. The capsule may be opened by finger force and used, for example, by pediatric and geriatric patients.
Dosage form articles for delayed release
A comestible dosage form article for administration to a target subject, the dosage form comprising: an outer capsule comprising a first cap telescopically engageable with a first body; and an inner capsule, within the outer capsule, comprising a second cap telescopically engageable with a second body, wherein the inner capsule is inverted with respect to the outer capsule such that, in an assembled state, the second cap is proximal to the first body and distal to the first cap.
System composed of inhaler and capsule
The invention relates to a system composed of an inhaler and a capsule, preferably intended for single use. The capsule contains a preferably powdered pharmaceutical preparation which, for inhalation, is expelled from the capsule through at least one hole. The capsule comprises as capsule elements a capsule cap and a capsule body, at least one of which comprises at least one prefabricated hole. The prefabricated hole in the capsule is sealed off in the transporting state of the system and is open in the usage state. The hole is exposed by actuation of a pulling mechanism. Prior to this the hole is closed off by a capsule receptacle or a film. In one embodiment the capsule may be present in two different states, for example in different insertion positions of the capsule elements. In the first state the prefabricated hole is closed off and in the second it is exposed. Also shown is an inhaler suitable as a disposable product, which is manufactured from thermoformed parts or from blister film.
A TAMPING DEVICE FOR CAPSULE FILLING MACHINES
A tamping device for capsule filling machines is disclosed. The device includes a dosing disc having at least one dosing chamber adapted to be filled with a material which is to be filled in a capsule. The device includes at least one piston adapted to be moved within the at least one dosing chamber to perform the tamping operation on the material. The device includes at least one slider disposed below the dosing disc and adapted to abut the dosing disc. The at least one slider is adapted to support the material within the at least one dosing chamber to perform the tamping operation. The device includes a support pad movably disposed beneath the at least one slider and adapted to be moved towards the at least one slider.
Method and System for Conditioning Lipid Compounds for Medicinal Foods and Medicinal Products
A method for packaging a lipid compound for ingestion by a human or animal body, comprising the following steps: filling (I) a first part of a prefabricated capsule, previously opened in two parts, with a predetermined volume of a lipid compound; introducing (II) a food-grade lipophilic absorbent into the lipid compound (4) within this first part, so as to produce, after absorption of the lipid compound, a core in the form of a pasty mixture providing for a predetermined dissolution rate, closing (III) the capsule by fitting the second part on the first part containing the core; and coating the capsule thus closed with a polymer, so as to allow subsequent release of the lipid compound at a predetermined release site within said human or animal body.
