The present disclosure generally relates to a dual spout pill storage and swallowing assist bottle device intended to be carried by a user. The bottle device includes two distinct drinking spouts and is configured to allow a user to both drink from the bottle device as normal and also drink from the bottle in a way to assist the user with swallowing a pill.
ORAL DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THE USE THEREOF
An oral device includes an intraoral bolus simulator comprising an exterior surface and having an interior volume Tillable with a fluid. An extraoral user interface extends from the bolus simulator, and can be used to locate or position the intraoral bolus simulator. In various embodiments, the fluid may be a gas or a liquid, or combinations thereof. In other embodiments, an oral device includes an extraoral handle, a shield connected to the handle, a tether extending from the shield, and a bolus simulator connected to the tether.
Oral mouthpiece and method for the use thereof
The present invention relates generally to an oral device, or mouthpiece, for delivering a fluid to the mouth or oropharynx of a user. In one embodiment, the oral device includes an intraoral portion, an extraoral portion, and an auxiliary support device that serves to stabilize the oral device. In various embodiments, the auxiliary support device may be configured with ear loops, a support band, a support frame and/or a support member. The intraoral portion generally includes at least one outlet port through which the fluid is delivered to the oral cavity or oropharynx. A method of dispensing a fluid using the oral device is also provided.
Oral appliance for administration of electrical stimulation and method for the use thereof
An oral appliance for use with a subject in his/her mouth includes a flexible tube having an input end and an output end and an electrode coupled to the flexible tube adjacent the output end. The flexible tube is adapted to be positioned in the subject's oral cavity with the output end positioned in a posterior region of the oral cavity. The electrode is adapted and configured to administer an electrical stimulation to the posterior region of the oral cavity. An electrode lead is disposed within the flexible tube and connected to the electrode. An electrical stimulation control unit is connected to the electrode lead. A method of administering an electrical stimulation to a posterior region of an oral cavity of a subject is also provided.
CAPSULE DEVICE WITH AN APERTURE FORMED BY AN OVERLAP OF TWO HALVE-CAPSULE SHELLS
The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical dosage form for application to a mucous membrane, in particular to a buccal, intestinal, rectal or vaginal mucous membrane, comprising at least one string-like or strip-like preparation comprising the active pharmaceutical ingredient, the dosage from consisting a first and a second halve-capsule shell, which jointly define the size of an aperture for releasing the preparation. The invention also relates to a method of producing the pharmaceutical dosage form.
CAPSULE DEVICE WITH AN APERTURE FORMED BY A WALL PART OF ONE OF TWO HALF-CAPSULE SHELLS
The present invention relates to a capsule device and a pharmaceutical dosage form using the capsule device for application to a mucous membrane, in particular to a buccal, intestinal, rectal or vaginal mucous membrane, comprising at least one string-like or strip-like preparation comprising the active pharmaceutical ingredient, the dosage from consisting a first and a second halve-capsule shell, and a hollow cylindrical wall part which jointly define the size of an aperture for releasing the preparation. The invention also relates to a method of producing the pharmaceutical dosage form.
ORAL DEVICE, ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR THE USE THEREOF
A carrying case has first and second clam shell members hingedly connected along one side thereof and defines a interior cavity when in a closed position. At least a portion of an oral device is disposed between the first and second clam shell members with a support member engaging and supporting the oral device such that an intraoral bolus simulator is suspended in the interior cavity free of any engagement with the carrying case. The intraoral bolus simulator may include lubricated patches transformable from a first state, wherein the lubricated patches each comprise water soluble thermoplastic particles suspended in a silicone matrix, to a second state, wherein the water soluble thermoplastic particles are depleted from the silicone matrix. A method of stimulating an oral cavity includes depleting the water soluble thermoplastic particles from the silicone matrix, and presenting a rough surface to the user with the depleted lubricated patches.
PILL COATING APPARATUS AND METHOD
A system for administering tablets, capsules, caplets, nutritional supplements, pills, and the like includes a vessel having a container and cap, with intermediate closure assembly selectively permitting passage of a liquid coating (oil) therebetween. Pills between the closure (valve) and cap are coated by tilting the closed vessel while the cap is sealed on the container. When the vessel is upright, the coating liquid drains back into the container. Removal of the cap closes (seals) the closure assembly against escape of liquid from the container. A user may then pour a pill or pills from the basket directly into the mouth without touching fingers to the coating thereon. Oils and water-based liquids in the mouth and esophagus repel, so pills slide down, making swallowing easier.
Oral drug delivery device
Disclosed is an oral drug delivery device, comprising a tubular member, a drug holding part, a device cap and a turbulence-creating means. The tubular member has openings at both ends and an inner cavity; the opening at one end is a first opening and the opening at the other end is a second opening; the inner cavity communicates the first opening and the second opening. The turbulence-creating means comprises a step structure or a fold structure, and is disposed in the inner cavity and positioned between the second opening and the drug holding part. By using the oral drug delivery device of the present invention, turbulence can be generated during a normal sipping process, thereby providing ample mixing of drug-containing granules or multi-particulates with drinkable liquids. Moreover, the device is telescopic, which reduces the size and is convenient to carry.
