THROUGH-AIR DRYING APPARATUS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE

Unlike conventional through-air drying processes the instant invention utilizes at least two through-air driers where the first dyer is at least partially encircled by a first through-air drying fabric and the second dyer is at least partially encircled by a second through-air drying fabric. By providing each through-air dryer with its own fabric the overall drying performance may be increased. Additionally, in certain embodiments, the first and second fabrics may be different to optimize both the drying performance and/or tissue product properties.

LOTIONED FIBROUS STRUCTURES AND METHODS FOR MAKING SAME

Fibrous structures having a surface pattern of a continuous knuckle region and a plurality of discrete pillow regions such that the fibrous structures exhibit improved lotion transfer compared to known fibrous structures and better sheet control during the making of such fibrous structures are provided.

PAPERMAKING MACHINE THAT UTILIZES ONLY A STRUCTURED FABRIC IN THE FORMING OF PAPER

A method of forming a fibrous web on a papermaking machine including the steps of depositing a dilute fiber slurry out of a headbox to a forming area comprising a forming surface made up of a structured fabric, wherein the structured fabric is supported by a breast roll and a forming roll, and the forming area is devoid of any additional fabrics or belts other than the structured fabric, draining the dilute fiber slurry through the structured fabric, and drying the fiber slurry.

FORMER OF WATER LAID ASSET THAT UTILIZES A STRUCTURED FABRIC AS THE OUTER WIRE

A method of forming a fibrous web including the steps of providing a fiber slurry, depositing the fiber slurry between an inner forming wire and an outer forming wire, wherein the outer forming wire comprises a structured fabric and the inner forming wire contacts a segment of a forming roll, and rotating the forming roll so that the fiber slurry moves into contact with the structured fabric.

System and method for cleaning of belts and/or fabrics used on through air drying papermaking machines

A method for cleaning a belt of a through air drying papermaking machine in which a high pressure shower is configured to traverse across a width of the belt of the papermaking machine while ejecting water onto the belt, and a vacuum box is operatively connected to the high pressure shower. The high pressure shower has a width that is less than a full width of the belt.

THROUGH-AIR APPARATUS WITH A SHROUD

A through-air apparatus for drying or bonding paper, tissue, or nonwoven webs is provided. The through-air apparatus includes a through-air roll configured for rotational movement about a first axis, the through-air roll having a first end and a second end. The through-air apparatus includes an exhaust duct/passage adjacent to the first end of the through-air roll, and a hood encompassing a portion of the through-air roll, where the hood defines an active arc length of the through-air roll positioned inside of the hood. The through-air apparatus further includes a first shroud extending substantially from the exhaust duct to the hood, the first shroud configured to reduce the amount of process air inside of the through-air apparatus that is released out of the through-air apparatus and reduce the amount of air outside of the apparatus that leaks into the through-air apparatus.
