Hydrophobic and/or amphiphobic roll cover
The present invention relates generally to an industrial roll, comprising: a substantially cylindrical metallic core; a base layer that is adhered to and circumferentially overlies the core; a polymeric topstock layer that circumferentially overlies the base layer; and a hydrophobic and/or amphiphobic coating that circumferentially overlies the topstock layer.
ROLL COVER AND ROLL
A roll cover and a roll in particular for use in a machine line for the production or processing of a fibrous web is provided, wherein the roll cover includes a radial outer functional layer which provides the surface of the roll cover in contact with the web, and wherein the functional layer has structural elements, in particular in the form of grooves and/or bores, wherein the functional layer is constructed of an elastomer material with a Poisson number greater than 0.4, between 0.45 and 0.5.
Technical roll, in particular for paper manufacturing, method for introducing a polymer fibre into an empty conduit of a technical roll, and use of a polymer fibre
A technical roll, in particular for paper manufacturing, having an elongated roll core and at least one first covering which is provided on the roll core, wherein an empty duct or conduit is provided, which is suitable for receiving a polymer fibre and extends over the length of the roll such that the polymer fibre can be introduced at one end of the empty duct. The application also relates to a technical roll having a polymer fibre, to a method for introducing the polymer fibre into an empty duct, and to the use of a polymer-based optical waveguide as a sensor in a technical roll.
Packing paper
Packaging paper consisting of an unbleached kraft paper with a kappa value according to ISO 302:2015 between 38 and 60, preferably between 40 and 58 as base paper, which is optionally coated on at least one side, wherein the kraft paper is made of at least 90% primary pulp, has a basis weight according to ISO 536:2019 between 60 g/m.sup.2 and 150 g/m.sup.2 and an air resistance according to ISO 5636-5:2013 (Gurley) between 5 and 30 seconds, wherein the base paper has an elongation at break in the machine direction according to ISO 1924-3:2005 between 2.5% and 8.5% and has a Bendtsen roughness according to ISO 8791-2:2013 between 70 ml/min and 600 ml/min, preferably between 150 ml/min to 550 ml/min, more preferably 200 ml/min to 500 ml/min, and process for its production.
Polyurethane roll cover for calender roll for papermaking machine
A calender roll for a papermaking machine includes: a substantially cylindrical core; and a cover circumferentially surrounding the core. The cover comprises a base layer circumferentially overlying the core; and a topstock layer comprising polyurethane circumferentially overlying the base layer, the topstock layer being fiber reinforced, the polyurethane having a glass transition temperature of between about 120 and 150 C., the topstock layer having a hardness of 70 to 90 ShD.
Abrasion-resistant rubber roll cover with polyurethane coating
An industrial roll includes: a substantially cylindrical metallic core; a rubber base layer that is adhered to and circumferentially overlies the core; a rubber top stock layer that circumferentially overlies the base layer; and a polyurethane coating that circumferentially overlies the top stock layer. In this configuration, the roll can provide improved abrasion-resistance, sheet release properties, and/or toughness compared to a roll with a rubber cover, but may provide these properties in a cover that is softer than a typical polyurethane cover.
Roll cover
A roll cover is particular suited for use in an apparatus for producing or surface finishing a fibrous web, such as a web of paper or of cardboard. The roll cover is formed on a roll core of metal or of a fiber-reinforced plastic and includes a matrix system wherein fillers are provided. The fillers provided are three or more in number and they have different median particle sizes.
SHEET MANUFACTURING APPARATUS AND SHEET MANUFACTURING METHOD
A sheet manufacturing apparatus having a compactly configurable heating/compressing unit that heats and compresses material efficiently.
A sheet manufacturing apparatus having a heating/compressing unit configured to form a sheet by heating and compressing material including fiber and resin, the heating/compressing unit including a first rotating body that rotates, and a second rotating body that rotates in contact with the first rotating body, and holding, heating, and compressing material by the first rotating body and the second rotating body; and the sheet manufacturing apparatus including a heating unit that heats the outside surface of at least one of the first rotating body and second rotating body.
Roller
The invention relates to a roller for producing a fibrous web, in particular a paper web including a rotationally symmetrical base body which is rotatable about a longitudinal axis and has a shell surface on which there are arranged at least two elastically deformable and/or deflectable ring-shaped lamellas which extend away from the shell surface in the radial direction and which surround the base body in the circumferential direction, wherein the lamellas are arranged at least in sections at an angle relative to a center plane of the roller aligned perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the roller, thus forming an angle of inclination.
