A sheet manufacturing apparatus includes: a defibrating unit which defibrates a raw material including at least fibers; an addition unit which adds an additive agent to a defibrated material which is defibrated in the defibrating unit; and a sheet forming unit which forms a sheet by bonding the plurality of fibers to each other via the additive agent. According to a history of the raw material, an amount of the additive agent which is fed by the addition unit varies. In addition, there is provided a sheet manufacturing method, including: defibrating the raw material which includes at least fibers; adding the additive agent to the defibrated material; and bonding the plurality of fibers to each other via the additive agent. According to the history of the raw material, a feed amount of the additive agent with respect to the raw material varies.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for determining and applying a distribution of oxidizing agents in delignification of a pulp bleaching cycle. The method obtains an incoming kappa value of an unbleached pulp slurry and a target kappa value expected for a bleached pulp slurry. A model generates a sequence kappa factor based on these values, and a total equivalent chlorine (TEC) factor from the sequence kappa factor and the incoming kappa value. Scenarios are simulated using the TEC factor, each scenario specifying a unique distribution of dosage targets for oxidizing agents and having a total consumption score for the oxidizing agents that is determined based on the dosage targets for the oxidizing agents. A scenario with the lowest total consumption score is selected, and the model applies the dosage targets of oxidizing agents for the selected scenario during the pulp bleaching cycle.

PREDICTIVE AND REAL TIME PROCESS INTERVENTION INVOLVING A MULTI-COMPONENT DEFOAMER FEED UNIT

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for proactive intervention in an industrial process involving a defoamer composition. Learning models are iteratively trained using historical input data sets comprising directly measured variables from the industrial process and correlations between combinations of the input data and respective process states. For a current input data set associated with the industrial process, and responsive to detected process attributes, an intervention event is determined with respect to at least a first defoamer component in a current composition. Models are utilized to predict, responsive to the intervention event, changes in target values within a specified range of target values for other components in the current composition and/or for directly measured variables as corresponding with a specified process state. Automatic control is performed for respective actuators to produce a new defoamer composition, and as needed to other actuators for the directly measured variables.
