ODOR CONTROL PULP COMPOSITION
The present technology is directed to fluff pulps with improved odor control as well as methods of making such fluff pulps. A fluff pulp is provided that includes a bleached kraft fiber and a copper ion content from about 0.2 ppm to about 50 ppm by weight of the bleached kraft fiber. The bleached kraft fiber includes a length-weighted average fiber length of at least about 2 mm, a copper number of less than about 7, a carboxyl content of more than about 3.5 meq/100 grams; an ISO brightness of at least 80; and a viscosity from about 2 cps to about 9 cps.

Total heat exchange element paper having excellent moisture resistance and gas barrier properties, comprising a substrate sheet and a moisture absorbent and colloidal silica both of which are adhered to the substrate sheet, wherein the substrate sheet contains natural pulp which has been beaten to a freeness specified in JIS P 8121-1:2012 of not lower than 80 SR and the colloidal silica is cationic colloidal silica.
Paper-like and nanocomposite material based on mineral fiber
A paper-like nanocomposite material based on mineral fibers, which can be used as a capillary-porous element of evaporative-type air-cooling units. The material is made using glass fibers with a diameter of 0.4 m as mineral fibers and sodium aluminate and aluminum sulfate as a binder. The material is made on traditional papermaking equipment using casting technique with a specified ratio of the above components.
System and methods for reducing edge wicking of a paperboard comprising fruit fiber and compositions produced thereby
A composition including a first fiber derived from a first natural source, and a second fiber derived from a fruit, the second fiber being substantially free of surface active components. Surface active components may include oils, fatty acids, or other aliphatic and aromatic moieties that compromise edge wick performance. A process of manufacturing a paperboard product may include removing surface active components from fruit fiber to be included in manufacturing paper products to obtain a paper product with improved edge wicking properties.

Preparation of silica-coated calcium carbonates with increased surface area and mesoporosity
This disclosure describes a process for preparing silica-coated calcium carbonate particles, involving the steps of preparing an aqueous carbonate slurry containing calcium carbonate particles, adding at least one silicate composition to the aqueous carbonate slurry to obtain a carbonate-silicate slurry, lowering a pH of the carbonate-silicate slurry by adding at least one acidic compound to obtain a pH-adjusted slurry containing the silica-coated calcium carbonate particles, and isolating the silica-coated calcium carbonate particlesin which at the adding of the acidic compound is controlled such that a final pH of the pH-adjusted slurry ranges from about 7 to about 10, and the silica-coated calcium carbonate particles include a porous coating having an average pore diameter ranging from 2 nm to 50 nm. This disclosure also describes articles and compositions containing the silica-coated calcium carbonate particles, as well as hollow silica spheres formed from the silica-coated calcium carbonate particles.

The invention relates to a titanium dioxide particle with high opacity and UV-greying resistance comprising two silica coats and at least one alumina coat, to a method for the obtaining the same, and to the use of said particle in a method for obtaining a decorative paper laminate or a dcor foil. The present invention further pertains a decorative paper laminate or a dcor foil containing said coated titanium dioxide particle.
COMPOSITION
A composition in accordance with an aspect of the present invention includes: composite fibers composed of inorganic particles and fibers; and at least one of (i) different-type inorganic particles which are different in type from the inorganic particles, (ii) different-type fibers which are different in type from the fibers, and (iii) organic particles.
