Paper Precoat Process
A process including providing a paper substrate; disposing a water soluble precoat composition onto all or a portion of the paper substrate to provide a treated paper; applying an image onto the treated paper using a toner or an aqueous ink to provide an imaged paper; wherein the water soluble precoat composition forms a temporary barrier between the toner or aqueous ink and the paper substrate; and wherein, during a paper pulping process, the water soluble precoat composition dissolves thereby releasing the toner or aqueous ink from the paper substrate.

FOOD CONTAINER AND PAPER PRODUCT
An object is to provide a food container and a paper product which are water resistant, oil resistant, and recyclable. Provided is a food container obtained by mixing and stirring water, konjac mannan, and an alkali to liberate an acetyl group to obtain modified mannan whose swelling is suppressed, releasing suppression of swelling of the modified mannan by neutralization to obtain neutral or acidic modified mannan, solating or gelating the neutral or acidic modified mannan, applying the solated mannan sol or the gelated mannan gel to a paper food container, and drying the mannan sol or the mannan gel.

Highly crystalline alpha-1,3-glucan
Disclosed herein are compositions comprising insoluble alpha-glucan particles having a high degree of crystallinity and small particle size. For example, the alpha-glucan particles can have a degree of crystallinity of at least about 0.65, and/or an average size of less than a micron. At least 50% of the glycosidic linkages of the insoluble alpha-glucan in the disclosed particles are alpha-1,3 glycosidic linkages. Further disclosed are methods of producing insoluble alpha-glucan particles, as well as their use in various applications and products.
