The present invention relates to a bio-based polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) composition suitable as a binder for fiber based materials, textiles, woven and nonwoven materials, said PEC composition comprising cationic biopolymer, anionic biopolymer, acid and preservative, and wherein the net charge of the PEC is cationic, the charge ratio of the anionic polymer and the cationic polymer is 1, the cationic biopolymer is chitosan, the anionic biopolymer is a polyanion derived from nature, the acid is a Brnsted acid and/or a Lewis acid, wherein the Brnsted acid is selected from any organic and/or inorganic acids, and wherein the Lewis acid is selected from any cationic mono- or multivalent atom, the weight ratio between cation and anion is 1:0.1 to 1:20, the weight ratio between the cation and acid is 1:0.01 to 1:30, chitosan has a degree of deacetylation being 66-100%, the pH is less than 7, and wherein said composition further comprises one or more non-water soluble particles. TRANSFER PAPER

The present invention relates to a transfer paper, which is: (i) a transfer paper without a coating layer, which comprises a pulp, a filler and an urea phosphate esterified starch, or (ii) a transfer paper having a coating layer, which comprises a base paper and one or more coating layer(s) provided on at least one side of the base paper, wherein an outermost coating layer positioned on the outermost side with respect to the base paper contains at least kaolin, calcium carbonate and a binder, wherein, () the base paper contains an urea phosphate esterified starch, or () the outermost coating layer contains an urea phosphate esterified starch.

According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a transfer paper excellent in image deterioration resistance, color development property, adhesion property and strike-through suppression property.

Block out label, label sheet, and related method

The present invention includes a label, a label sheet and a method for manufacturing the label. The label includes a paper facestock having first and second surfaces and a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive proximal to the second surface. The label can be adhered to a substrate having pre-applied indicia to cover the indicia and the label is opaque enough to prevent the viewing of the covered indicia while matching the color of the substrate.

FLUORESCENT WHITENING AGENTS AND MIXTURES THEREOF

The invention relates to novel fluorescent whitening agents, compositions or mixtures thereof with known fluorescent whitening agents, their preparation, and their use. The novel fluorescent whitening agents contain three structural subunits derived from 4,4-diamino-2,2-stilbenedisulfonic acid. The novel compounds and their mixtures with known FWAs show very good effectiveness as fluorescent whitening agents for cellulosic materials, in particular for paper.
