GASTROJEJUNAL TUBE APPARATUS AND METHODS OF USE
Gastrojejunal (GJ) tube apparatuses and methods for using the same where the GJ tube apparatuses having a plurality of tubes forming lumens within the apparatus and including a guidance tube having a closed end which is exposed by cutting off a portion of the GJ tube apparatus and which allows for insertion of a guide wire therethrough to assist in the placement of a new GJ tube such as when the existing tube becomes clogged or blocked.
MEDICAL DEVICE WITH INTEGRATED INSTRUMENT AND RELATED METHODS
A medical device includes a tube comprising a lumen extending from a proximal end to a distal end of the tube, a cap at the distal end of the tube having a distal opening corresponding to the lumen, and an imaging system positioned on a distal-facing surface of the cap. The medical device also includes an instrument at least partially disposed in the lumen that is non-removable from the medical device, an instrument actuation mechanism for controlling the instrument, and a single handle connected to the proximal end of the tube and housing the instrument actuation mechanism. The instrument actuation mechanism, to which a proximal end of the instrument is affixed, may be configured to be moved between a first and second position on the single handle to control an extension and retraction of the instrument relative to the tube.
CONCEALABLE FEEDING TUBE ASSEMBLY
A concealable feeding tube assembly includes a tube and a removable member. The tube has an insertion portion and a feeding portion respectively at two ends thereof. The feeding portion is configured for insertion into a nasal cavity of a patient and intercommunicates with the insertion portion. The removable member is detachably attached to the tube and is configured to seal the feeding portion. The removable member includes an abutment portion extending beyond a lateral face of the removable member.
PERCUTANEOUS ENDOSCOPIC GASTROSTOMY (PEG) TUBE HAVING AN IMPROVED INTERNAL BUMPER
A PEG tube having a new internal bumper design is provided that prevents, or at least reduces the chances of, unintended dislodgement of the PEG tube. The internal bumper is disposed on a proximal end of the tubing of the PEG tube and is in a first, placed state when the PEG tube is in a feeding position inside of a patient. In the first, placed state, the internal bumper is a substantially solid structure having a preselected shape and a preselected maximum outer diameter or width. Initiation of a removal process converts the internal bumper from the first, placed state to a second, removal state in which the internal bumper is a generally elongated structure that has an outer diameter or width that is smaller than the maximum outer diameter or width. The smaller diameter or width of the generally elongated structure facilitates withdrawal of the generally elongated structure through the tract in the patient's stomach.
CATHETER DEVICE FOR PROVIDING ACCESS TO A BODY CAVITY OF A PATIENT
A catheter device (1) for providing access to a body cavity of a patient comprises a tube (10) and an inserting shell (11) arranged on the tube (10) and constituted to be fastened to an insertion guide (3) for inserting the catheter device (1) into a body opening (C) of a patient (P). Herein, the inserting shell (11) comprises an opening (111) into which a thread (300) of the insertion guide (3) is insertable for fastening the catheter device (1) to the insertion guide (3). In this way, a catheter device is provided which, in an easy and efficient manner, allows for the fastening to an insertion guide.
DETACHABLE DILATOR WITH EXTRACTION DEVICE AND METHOD OF USE
A detachable dilator with an extraction device has a detachable dilator tip with a hole and an extraction device having a bead too large for passing through the hole and a string extending from the bead through the dilator tip. The string has a retrieval portion for coupling with a tool extending through an endoscope. For example, the retrieval portion may be a loop attached to the bead by the string. For example, the loop may be formed by knotting the string.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR PORTS TO LIVING TISSUE AND/OR LUMENS AND RELATED PROCEDURES
In some embodiments a PEG feeding device includes a tube sized to bridge a channel between a stomach and an outer abdominal surface; an internal bolster, and an external bolster. Optionally the bolsters are connected to the tube. The internal bolster may be sized to resist movement out of the stomach through the stoma. The external bolster may be sized to resist movement into the stoma from the outer abdominal surface. The external bolster may include an underside which extends from the tube in a radial direction between the external bolster and the outer abdominal surface. The underside of the outer bolster may contact the outer abdominal surface at a distance from an external opening of the stoma. Optionally the distance between the internal bolster and the external bolster is adjustable. Optionally an angle between one or both of the bolsters and the tube is adjustable.
Double Lumen Integrated Enteral Feeding Assembly and a Method for Use Thereof
A dual-tube feeding tube assembly for single-procedure placement inside the body of a patient, the assembly having a tubing unit including a gastric tube and jejunal tube adjacent one another such that the proximal end of the tubing unit is positioned outside the patient's body and the distal end is positioned inside the patient's body. A pointed tip attachment piece on the proximal end of the tubing unit allows the tubing unit to be pulled orally through the patient's esophagus and stomach until the pointed tip attachment piece extends through an abdominal incision. A set of bumpers on opposite sides of the abdomen wall maintain the position of the tubing unit such that the distal end remains inside the body and the proximal end remains outside the body so that medicine, food, and other substances can be supplied to the patient through the tubing unit.
ENTERAL FEEDING TUBE
An enteral feeding tube capable of delivering nutrients and/or medications to a patient at multiple points in the gastrointestinal tract and/or aspirating the gastrointestinal tract, comprising two or more channels each with at least one opening, said channels running parallel to the other until one channel ends, each channel keeping the fluid separated from the other channel, said channels being open at the proximal end and closed or open at the distal end and each channel having one or more perforations of same or variable size.
