20210164170 · 2021-06-03 · ·

A process for the manufacture of lignocellulosic fiber-based insulation boards that includes: applying a binder composition to lignocellulosic fibers; forming a lignocellulosic fiber mat by compressing the lignocellulosic fibers impregnated with the binder composition; and heating the compressed lignocellulosic fiber mat so as to obtain a lignocellulosic fiberboard bound by an insoluble and infusible thermoset binder, where the binder composition is an emulsion of a poly(methylene diphenyl isocyanate) (pMDI) in an aqueous phase comprising water and a polyol in dissolved form.

WET METHOD FOR PRODUCING A PANEL OR A POLE, PRODUCTS PRODUCED BY SAID METHOD AND USE OF PRODUCTS PRODUCED BY SAID METHOD

A method of making a board or mat, includes forming a liquid slurry with solids including inorganic fibers and cellulose fibers, forming a web from the slurry on at least one foraminous element, extracting water from the web, and drying the web to make a product, wherein the pH of the liquid slurry including the inorganic fibers and cellulose fibers is in the pH range of 2-6 and wherein the cellulose fibers have a Schopper-Riegler index of ≥50 according to ISO 5267.

SAG-RESISTANT ACOUSTIC BOARD

Described herein is an acoustic building panel comprising a body comprising inorganic fiber in an amount ranging from about 60.0 wt. % to about 90.0 wt. % based on the total weight of the body; and microfibrillated fiber in an amount ranging from about 0.5 wt. % to about 10 wt. % based on the total weight of the body.

The present application provides wood fiberboard comprising wood fibers bound together with a binder polymer resin that imparts additional strength and moisture resistance. As well, the fiberboard incorporates a thermal fire suppressing inorganic expandable flake graphite and sodium silicate component to render the fiberboard to be non-combustible and fire resistant. As well, a manufacturing process for adding the inorganic graphite and polymer resin binder into the fiberboard and applying the silicate onto the fiberboard is provided.

REPULPABLE CONTAINER INSULATION PRODUCTS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING SAME

Container insulation including a batt comprised of large paper particles, at least 90% of which by weight are greater than 10 mm in diameter. Less than 5% by weight binder fibers are used, which have a length of at least 20 mm. Most preferably, no binder fibers are used. Where the batts are faced with paper, the paper is coated with a biodegradable coating. The resulting product is repulpable and recyclable in accordance with Fiber Box Association (FBA) testing protocols.
