Machine and Process for Decorticating Plant Matter
20190323148 · 2019-10-24 ·

A decorticating machine comprising modular drum assemblies of different tooth and surface patterns that are installed between pairs of left and right lower and upper rails is described. The modular drum assemblies (usually provided in upper and lower drum pairs) and the number thereof can be chosen based on the particulars of the type of stalk being processed.

CLEAN PRODUCTION METHOD FOR BAMBOO FIBRES
20190264350 · 2019-08-29 ·

Disclosed is a dean production method for bamboo fibres, comprising the following steps: bamboo pieces are separated into filaments, and the filaments are twisted into ropes to obtain rope-shaped bamboo filaments; the rope-shaped bamboo filaments are refined by means of multiple alternating cold-hot treatments and rolling and rubbing to obtain coarse rope-shaped bamboo fibres (wherein same can be directly put into a drying device and then made into coarse bamboo fibres for a composite material); the coarse rope-shaped bamboo fibres are subjected to continuous biological degumming to obtain the rope-shaped bamboo fibres; the rope-shaped bamboo fibres are fed into a cleaning device for repeated cleaning, rolling and drying are performed, and then spraying-type oiling is performed to obtain thin rope-shaped bamboo fibres; finally, the thin rope-shaped bamboo fibres are subjected to opening and carding to make bamboo fibres for a textile material.

HORTICULTURAL SUBSTRATE CONDITIONER

A horticultural substrate conditioner includes a housing having an opening to receive a growing medium and an outlet to discharge the growing medium, a shaft arranged within the housing, the shaft rotatable relative to the housing, and a plurality of tines disposed on the shaft spaced apart from each other, the tines comprising a flexible material, wherein upon entry of a growing medium into the housing, the tines are capable of engaging the growing medium such that as the shaft rotates, the growing medium is broken apart and/or reduced in density and size to enable optimal distribution of the growing medium into a container upon discharge from the housing.

PLANT STEM BREAKING APPARATUS AND METHOD
20240287709 · 2024-08-29 ·

A stem breaking apparatus includes a roller having unevenly spaced radial projections and is useful in a method of extracting bast fibers from a plant stem. The roller is one of a pair of intermeshed counter-rotating rollers between which the plant stem is passed to break the woody core of the stem for separation from the bast fibers. Pairs of adjacent projections are angularly spaced by a larger amount that the individual projections of each pair. The rollers provide a larger support span than conventional stem-breaking rollers, resulting in gentler breaking of the woody core and preventing or eliminating the kinks and inter-fiber splitting associated with conventional stem breaking. Pre-compression of the stems before breaking offers further advantages.
