Feeding set and enteral feeding pump assembly
In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful to provide fluid nutrition and hydration. In one illustrative example, a feeding set for use with a peristaltic enteral feeding pump has sections of flexible tubing or conduit, a dispensing control valve that is in fluid communication with the tubing, and a retention disk. In some configurations, the feeding set has as attachment mechanism, which may be formed by one clips or hooks extending from the dispensing control valve and coupling geometry of the retention disk. By some approaches, the clips or hooks and the coupling geometry are configured to attach the feeding set with the pump, such as by attaching the feeding set to an internal panel of the feeding pump. In operation, the feeding set and pump are used to move fluid nutrition and hydration from a container or bag to the patient in a controlled manner.
MEDICAL DISPOSABLE PUMPING SET
A system for feeding and aspirating a patient's stomach may include a feeding bag, a collection bag, and a water source interconnected with each other via a double action piston pump and further connected to a nasogastric tube via the double action piston pump. An exemplary double action piston pump may be utilized for pumping contents of the feeding bag into the patient's stomach, pumping out contents of the patient' s stomach into the collection bag, injecting water from the water source into the patient's stomach.
STABILIZATION DEVICES FOR USE WITH LOW-PROFILE FEEDING DEVICES AND RELATED METHODS OF USING THE SAME
A stabilization device for a low-profile feeding device may include a pad and a stabilizer body. The low-profile feeding device may have a tube, an external bolster, and an internal bolster. The pad may include an opening extending from a top surface to a bottom surface thereof and configured for receiving the tube therethrough. The stabilizer body may be fixedly attached to the top surface of the pad and configured for extending over the external bolster. The stabilizer body may include a cavity configured for receiving a base portion of the external bolster therein, an opening extending from the cavity to a top surface of the stabilizer body and configured for allowing access to an access port of the external bolster, and a slit extending from the top surface toward a bottom surface of the stabilizer body and from the opening to a first end of the stabilizer body.
Methods, compositions, and devices for supplying dietary fatty acid needs
Nutritional formulas comprising long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFAs) are provided, along with methods and devices for preparing and/or administering nutritional formulas. In some embodiments, a percentage of the LC-PUFAs in the nutritional formula are in the form of monoglycerides and/or free fatty acids. In some embodiments, the nutritional formulas do not comprise added lipase. Also provided are methods for providing nutrition to a subject, methods for improving fat absorption, methods for improving cognitive ability, methods for preventing chronic lung disease, and methods for reducing the length of time a patient requires total parenteral nutrition.
Nutrient recycling device
A nutrient recycling device is provided that is configured to collect digestive contents from a first opening of a gastrointestinal (GI) tract and recycle and/or return the digestive contents to a second location in a patient's gastrointestinal tract. The device and associated method may find application in patients with a number of complaints, such as short bowel syndrome and/or prior to stoma reversal surgery. The device comprises a bag adapted to receive the digestive contents from a first GI opening, and a pump incorporated with the bag adapted to pump the digestive contents to a second GI location. The pump includes an inlet in fluid communication with the interior of the bag, and an outlet connected to an outlet conduit adapted to provide a flow pathway for the digestive content to flow from the pump to second GI location.
Feeding tube with electromagnetic sensor
There is provided feeding tubes including an electromagnetic sensor including a sensor body comprising a core positioned at a distal end of the sensor lumen, and a wire extending along the length of the feeding tube, wherein an RF induced heating of the feeding tube in an MRI environment is below 5 degrees.
ENTERAL FEEDING DEVICE AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME
The present invention relates to an enteral syringe including a barrel with a first inlet, a first outlet positioned opposite the first inlet, a first side opening formed in a side of the barrel and a plunger movably mounted in the barrel where the barrel can be filled and refilled with enteral fluid without removing the plunger from the barrel.
Medical pump
A medical pump, comprising: a fluid housing having a plurality of intake openings, sealed by at least one intake valve, and an outlet opening sealed by an outlet valve; a piston which is sealing the fluid housing and connected to a drive mechanism, the drive mechanism pulls the piston to draw fluid from one of the plurality of intake openings and pushes the piston to discharge the fluid into the outlet opening; and a selecting valve enclosing at least two tubes, each providing fluid to one of the plurality of intake openings, wherein the selecting valve closes one of the at least two tubes while opening another of the at least two tubes.
Dosing Control Coupling for Enteral Fluid Transfer and Enteral Couplings and Syringes
An enteral dosing control coupling comprising a cylindrical collar defining a hollow internal chamber and a lumen extension tip projecting axially into the internal chamber, the lumen extension tip defining an internal lumen extending therethrough. In example forms, the lumen extension tip is integrally formed with the cylindrical collar. In other example forms, the lumen extension tip is a separate piece and is removably engageable within the cylindrical collar. In some example forms, the present invention relates to syringes, connectors, couplings, etc. having ISO 80369-3 formatted couplings. In other example forms, the present invention relates to connectors, couplings, etc. for adapting coupling formats other than the ISO 80369-3 coupling format to the ISO 80369-3 coupling format.
Fluid Heating Device
A fluid heating device for on demand heating of fluids for feeding a child includes a pipe that is coupled to and extends from a control module, which comprises a power module. A first and a second tube are coupled to and extend from a first and a second end of the pipe, respectively. A terminus of the first tube is positionable in a reservoir that contains a fluid. A nipple that is coupled to the second tube distal from the pipe is configured to be positioned in a mouth of a child, positioning the child to suck on the nipple to draw the fluid from the reservoir through the first tube into the pipe. A heating element in the pipe heats the fluid as it passes through the pipe. The fluid then passes through the second tube and a hole in the nipple into the mouth of the child.
