Measuring device
In some embodiments a PEG feeding device includes a tube sized to bridge a channel between a stomach and an outer abdominal surface; an internal bolster, and an external bolster. Optionally the bolsters are connected to the tube. The internal bolster may be sized to resist movement out of the stomach through the stoma. The external bolster may be sized to resist movement into the stoma from the outer abdominal surface. The external bolster may include an underside which extends from the tube in a radial direction between the external bolster and the outer abdominal surface. The underside of the outer bolster may contact the outer abdominal surface at a distance from an external opening of the stoma. Optionally the distance between the internal bolster and the external bolster is adjustable. Optionally an angle between one or both of the bolsters and the tube is adjustable.
System, apparatus and method employed with enteral systems
A connector system is configured to fluidly connect a nasogastric tube assembly including a lumen and a tube to a medical device. The system includes a connector including: a fitting configured to provide a fluid-tight connection with the medical device; a neck coupled to the fitting, the neck configured to attach to the nasogastric tube assembly; and a body coupled to the neck, the body configured to provide a fluid-tight connection with the nasogastric tube assembly when at least partially inserted within the lumen; and a first tether including a first fastening region defining a first opening configured to receive the neck, a second fastening region defining a second opening configured to couple to the nasogastric tube assembly, and a link coupling the first fastening region to the second fastening region, the link configured to maintain a fixed distance separating the first fastening region from the second fastening region.
Hub Component for Vented Connector
A hub component for a vented connector including a generally elongate cylindrical body having a first end and a second end. The first end of the hub component includes one or more fingers or clips for engagement with one or more vents of the vented connector. The second end of the hub component can be configured for compatible engagement with a carbon dioxide detector.
ENTERAL FLUID DELIVERY SYSTEM
Disclosed is a system for administrating fluids to a patient, such as an infant. The system comprises a container that defines a drip chamber, a source of nutritive fluid fluidically communicating with the drip chamber, and a tube connecting the drip chamber to the gastric cavity of a patient, the chamber including a membrane that is gas-permeable but that is resistant to fluid passage. The system allows fluids to be introduced to the patient and for gastric gases to be released while they are resistant to the leak and spillage.
Vented air release coupling and method of using the same
An ISO 80369-3 compatible coupling having at least one vent, recessed groove, non-cylindrical geometry and/or textured surface formed therewith. According to one example embodiment, a vent can be formed on a male coupling and/or a female coupling. The vent can be in the form of recessed channel. According to one example embodiment, the coupling comprises non-cylindrical geometry such that at least one vent is provided.
Multi-lumen gastrointestinal feeding and aspirating catheter assemblies
The embodiments disclosed herein relate to catheter assemblies. The catheter assemblies can include a multi-lumen catheter, a junction hub, and extension legs. The catheter assemblies can also include a sheath that includes a membrane that is permeable to one or more gases and impermeable to one or more liquids or solids. The catheter assemblies can be configured to deliver food to a patient through a first lumen, and simultaneously vent or aspirate one or more gases from the patient through a second lumen. The catheter assemblies can also include preformed catheters that assume a non-linear three-dimensional shape when in a relaxed state.
FEEDING TUBE WITH INFLATABLE BALLOON COMPONENT AND AT LEAST ONE OF A CARBON DIOXIDE SAMPLING LINE AND A SUCTION TUBE COMPONENT
A feeding tube with an inflatable balloon component and at least one of (1) a carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) sampling line, (2) a suction tube component, (3) a pH sensor, and (4) an electromagnetic sensor is disclosed. A kit containing the feeding tubing and at least one of (1) a carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) sampling line, (2) a suction tube component, (3) a pH sensor, and (4) an electromagnetic sensor, and a method for intubating a patient to deliver the feeding tube to a desired location for delivering nutrients and/or medication to the patient are also disclosed.
Enteral syringe with vented collar
A syringe having an enteral collar with a vent is disclosed. The syringe may also include a plug which reversibly covers the vent. Other embodiments relate to the use of the syringe. The vent allows fluid within the region between the enteral collar and the tip to be removed.
Temporary tubes and a system for placing same in a patient
A temporary tube placement system includes a tube having a proximal end and a distal end, a camera supported by the tube at the distal end, a plurality of fiber optic filaments through which light from a light source travels from the proximal end to the distal end, a screen for displaying images from the camera, and a power source electrically attached to the camera and the light source. The enteral tube includes a tube having a distal end portion for placement within a patient and a proximal end portion and a lumen increasing in cross section from the proximal end portion toward the distal end portion along at least a portion of the tube.
