Fluid transfer devices and methods of use
Some embodiments disclosed herein related to a device for transferring precise amounts of fluid from at least one source container to at least one target container. In some embodiments, the fluid is first transferred from the source container (e.g., a vial) through a connector to an intermediate measuring container (e.g., a syringe). In some embodiments air can pass through an air inlet and enter the vial to compensate for the volume of fluid withdrawn from the vial. An air check valve or a bag or a filter can prevent the fluid from escaping through the air inlet. The precisely measured amount of fluid can then be transferred from the intermediate measuring container to the target container (e.g., an IV bag). In some embodiments the connector can include a source check valve and a target check valve to direct fluid first from the source container to the intermediate measuring container and then from the intermediate measuring container to the target container. Some embodiments of the device can include a motor and a controller for automatically actuating a plunger of the syringe to transfer the desired amount of fluid.
MEDICAL FLUID WARMING JACKET FOR AN IV FLUID BAG AND METHOD FOR WARMING AN IV FLUID BAG
A medical fluid warming jacket for an IV fluid bag has a flexible jacket body including an integrally formed warming panel and window panel. The warming panel incorporates an electric heating element and at least one temperature sensor configured to measure a temperature of fluid contained within the IV bag. The window panel defines at least one see-through viewing area. An electronic control unit is operatively connected to the heating element and the temperature sensor, and includes a user interface and display. The electronic control unit takes input from the user interface to control the heating element and cooperates with the temperature sensor to output a measured temperature to the display.
LIQUID FOOD ITEM PRESERVATION AND PREPARATION
Devices, systems, and apparatuses, and associated methods of preparing a liquid food item for consumption by a liquid food item preparation device are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a device includes an inner shell having an inner surface and an outer surface, an outer shell having an inner surface and an outer surface, the inner surface of the inner shell defining a liquid holding volume and the outer surface of the inner shell and the inner surface of the outer shell defining a vacuum chamber. The outer shell and inner shell can be configured to form an orifice to the liquid holding volume at their junction. The device can be configured to prepare a liquid food item for consumption, including by powering a heating element and mixer device that can be configured to respectively heat and mix a liquid food item in the liquid holding volume.
Liquid level sensor for liquid receptacle
Disclosed herein are various techniques and devices for detecting a level of fluid within a fluid collection receptacle. In one embodiment, a pressure sensor connected to a bottle is provided. The pressure sensor detects air pressure in the bottle as the bottle is filled with a liquid and provides information to determine a volume of the liquid in the bottle.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PERCUTANEOUS DRAINAGE
System for percutaneous drainage of a drainage site includes a catheter, a drain tube, a first pump, a flush tube, a second pump, and a controller. The catheter includes a drain lumen defined by a first portion of a catheter wall and a septum, and a flush lumen defined by a second portion of the catheter wall and the septum. The flush lumen is separated from the drain lumen by the septum. The septum has at least one septal hole disposed therein such that the drain lumen and the flush lumen are in communication via the at least one septal hole. The catheter wall has at least one wall hole disposed therein such that the drain lumen is in communication with the drainage site when the distal end portion of the catheter is placed within the drainage site.
PHARMACEUTICAL UNIT DOSE SYSTEMS FOR ORAL DRY SOLUTION AND SUSPENSION
This disclosure provides a pharmaceutical unit dose system. The unit dose system includes a unit-of-use self-dispersing dry composition for oral suspension. Also provided is a method for preparing a single unit dose of a dry pharmaceutical composition for oral administration. The unit dose system is advantageous in the convenience of use, dosing accuracy, long term storage, suspension uniformity over conventional multidose powder composition for oral suspension.
FLOWABLE FOOD FEEDING DEVICE
A container for feeding a patient includes a deformable receptacle having a cavity for holding a flowable food product and a rigid cover attachable to the upper end of the deformable receptacle. The rigid cover may have a male feeding tube connector that is uniquely connectable to a female feeding tube connector of a feeding tube or may have a female feeding tube connector that is uniquely connectable to a male feeding tube connector of a syringe. With the male and female feeding tube connectors connected, the deformable receptacle and the feeding tube or syringe are in fluid tight fluid communication to allow the flowable food product to be forced out of the opening of the deformable receptacle and into the feeding tube or syringe when the deformable receptacle is squeezed.
Nursing bottle
Provided is a nursing bottle. The nursing bottle includes a bottle body and a bottle bottom. The bottle body is detachably connected to the bottle bottom. Both the bottle body and the bottle bottom are made of silica gel, and the bottle body has an arc shape imitating a woman's breast. An outer side of the bottle body is provided with a nipple. The nipple is provided with a water outlet. The bottle body is provided with a containing cavity and a first opening. A storage bin for storing liquid is provided in the containing cavity. The water outlet is in communication with the storage bin. A side of the storage bin facing towards the bottle bottom is provided with a second opening. Reinforcing ribs are provided between the cavity wall of the containing cavity and the outer periphery of the storage bin.
BABY BOTTLE SYSTEM
A baby bottle system includes a collar configured to connect to a disposable water bottle, a nipple secured to the collar, and a dosing cap configured to connect to the collar and enclose the nipple. The collar includes a lower portion configured to engage the disposable water bottle and an upper portion attached to the lower portion, a base of the nipple being sandwiched between the upper portion and an upper end of the lower portion to secure the nipple to the collar.
