UPPER FOR AN ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR WITH A LATTICE STRUCTURE
20220364278 · 2022-11-17 ·

An upper for an article of footwear may have a knitted component, where the knitted component has a first edge extending from a first side of a throat area of the upper, through a heel area of the upper, and to a second side of the throat area. At least a portion of the first edge may include a lattice structure, the lattice structuring having a first lattice band and a second lattice band, the first lattice band and the second lattice band having loops that are intermeshed in at least one location, where a plurality of first openings are located between the first lattice band and the second lattice band. At least one of the lattice bands may include a yarn having a tenacity of at least 5 g/d, and/or the first and second lattice bands may be formed from separate yarns.

KNITTED PART

A knitted part flat-knitted from at least one knitting thread, said knitted part including a ground fabric portion having a plurality of ground fabric courses, and also at least one wave portion which extends across a plurality of wales, which include a plurality of wave portion courses and in which, in each case, a loop has been knitted in a first wale in a first wave portion course and every further wave portion course, whereas, in each case, in an adjacent second wale, a loop knitted in the first wave portion course extends across a plurality of wave portion courses, wherein at least one elastic weft thread runs through at least a portion of the ground fabric courses and the wave portion courses.

CIRCULAR KNITTED GARMENT WITH APERTURES
20170332703 · 2017-11-23 ·

Present aspects hereof are directed to a circular knitted apparel item, such as a sock, or a sleeve. The apparel item has at least a first segment with multiple knit courses, and a second segment having the same number of multiple knit courses as the first segment. The apparel item has an aperture separating the first segment and the second segment, where the aperture is occupied by a single strand of yarn extending from the first segment to the second segment. The first and second segments are formed by changing the circular knitting direction from one course to the next course in a reciprocating fashion, until the last course is formed, wherein the single strand of yarn moves from the last course in the current segment to the first course in a next, adjacent segment.

A bed sheet is provided that includes a knitted performance fabric having a plurality of spaced apart ventilation ports. The knitted performance fabric has a gauge per square inch, grams per square meter, air permeability and material content that are pre-selected to provide the knitted performance fabric with one or more selected physical features.

HERNIA REPAIR DEVICE AND METHODS

An improved abdominal hernia repair system is presented comprised of a silicone layer backed up with a knitted or woven polypropylene fabric layer, the silicone layer possessing a regular pattern of slits that permit equilibration of fluid pressure across the device. A variety of therapeutic substances can be applied to the hernia repair device to promote healing, including aloe and other medicinal preparations. A layer of water soluble or water insoluble anti-scar compound is also present, the preferred compound being Salinomycin.

An improved inguinal hernia repair system is presented that is identical to the above except it does not contain the hydrophobic silicone component.

Knitted component including knit openings formed with releasable yarn
11453964 · 2022-09-27 · ·

A knitted component includes a first yarn and a second yarn, where the first yarn comprises a thermoplastic material having a melting temperature. The first yarn is used to create window openings of different shapes and sizes within the knitted component. This is achieved by using the first yarn to releasably secure adjacent edges of a window opening. The first yarn is then heated to release, at least in part, the first yarn from the edges of the window opening, allowing the edges to separate and thereby form a window opening.

Knitted band with integrated ventilation

Aspects of the present invention are directed toward a knitted band that may be incorporated into a garment that encircles or partially encircles one or more body regions of a wearer in an as-worn position. The knitted band has a plurality of functional zones that integrally knit together. One of the functional zones facilitates ventilation that helps cool the wearer.

UPPER FOR AN ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR WITH A CUFF
20170258169 · 2017-09-14 · ·

In one aspect, an upper for an article of footwear may include a knit element, a collar area configured to form an ankle opening, and a cuff in the collar area. The cuff may be at least partially formed by the knit element and may include a ribbed knit structure of the knit element. In another aspect, an upper for an article of footwear may include a knit element with a first area, the first area including a first side and a second side opposite the first side. The first side may be formed of at least 30% more material than the second side such that the first area is configured to curve convexly away from the first side.

ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR INCORPORATING A KNITTED COMPONENT WITH A TONGUE

The present disclosure provides an upper for an article of footwear. The upper may include a knit element defining a portion of at least one of an exterior surface of the upper and an opposite interior surface of the upper. The interior surface may define a void. A tongue and the knit element may have a common yarn, and the tongue may extend through a throat area of the upper. The tongue may comprise a lateral edge, a medial edge, and a forward portion. At least one of the lateral edge and the medial edge of the tongue may be unsecured to the knit element. The tongue and the knit element may comprise a common yarn at least at the forward portion of the tongue.
