COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING MACROMOLECULAR ASSEMBLIES OF LIPID AND SURFACTANT
A composition comprising lipid and surfactant, characterised in that the surfactant has an HLB number of less than 20 and in that the lipid and surfactant are in the form of macromolecular assemblies of less than 10 nm in diameter.
ANTI-ADHERENT BOTANICAL COMPOSITIONS
A composition for inhibiting the attachment of microbes to an animate or inanimate surface is disclosed. The composition includes a carrier and an effective amount of an anti-adherent agent. The anti-adherent agents include botanical agents such Soybean extract, Horse chestnut extract, Gypenoside, Resveratrol, Astragalus extract, Rhubarb rootextract, Allium cepaextract, Cassia seedextract, Ginkgo bilobaextract, and Silymarin, and combinations thereof. The efficacy of the botanical agents is microbe and surface dependent. Various delivery vehicles, including a wipe, may be used to deliver the composition to the surface.
COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING DRAGLINE SPIDER SILK
Compositions comprising at least one major ampullate spidroin protein (MaSp)-based fiber, a polymer bound to the MaSp-based fiber, and optionally a further polymer having a molecular weight in the range of 1000 Da to 1000 kDa, are provided. Further, methods for preparation of same are provided.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A NONWOVEN ELEMENT FOR HYGIENE ARTICLES
A method for producing a nonwoven element for hygiene articles is accomplished by the steps of: forming a fibrous web from a multi-ply nonwoven material with at least one carded staple fiber layer and a storage layer which is arranged on the staple fiber layer and which has cellulose fibers, wherein at least a portion of the staple fibers of the staple fiber layer are formed from a thermoplastic; applying liquid jets to the fibrous web, as a result of which the fibers of the multi-ply nonwoven material are intermingled and entangled, and the fibrous web is embossed with a surface structure; applying heat to the fibrous web, as a result of which the thermoplastic staple fibers at least partially fuse and the fibrous web is bonded to form a nonwoven web, and severing individual nonwoven elements from the nonwoven web.
Personal Care Compositions
Disclosed are skin lightening personal care compositions comprising hexylresorcinol and licorice extract, wherein hexylresorcinol is present in an amount of from 0.00001% to 1% by weight of the composition and licorice extract is present in an amount of from 0.00001% to 0.1% by weight of the composition, as well as methods of using these compositions.
Deuterium-enriched hyaluronan
The present invention generally relates to deuterium-enriched hyaluronan, d-HA, compositions containing the same, methods of using the same, and methods for making the same. ##STR00001##
Anhydrous hydrocolloid matrix comprising homogeneously distributed encapsulated therapeutic agents
Anhydrous hydrocolloid matrices contain one or more encapsulated therapeutic agents, including an acne agent and/or skin conditioning agent. The anhydrous hydrocolloid matrices are used as acne treatment dressings alone or in a laminate with a water-impermeable or semi-water impermeable backing and a release liner. The anhydrous hydrocolloid matrices are made using a premix of viscosity modifiers and hydrocarbon emollients and the one or more therapeutic agents, which are mixed via high shear mixing to form the premix. The resulting anhydrous hydrocolloid matrices include the one or more therapeutic agents which are encapsulated and homogeneously distributed therein.
Device for Delivery of Skin Care Composition
A novel device and method for delivering a liquid containing an active ingredient to a treatment site on the skin is disclosed. The device is useful for treating lesions or abnormal skin features such as corns, warts, calluses, bunions, actinic keratoses and hard hyperkeratotic skin as is often found on the face, arms, legs or feet.
Foam having improved feeling during use
The present invention relates to a foam made of a specific material having superior properties and to cosmetics comprising said foam.
CLEANSER COMPOSITION
A cleanser composition contains (A) a nonionic surfactant having a HLB of from 10 to 18; and (B) a cosurfactant including at least one selected from the group consisting of alkylglycerols and glycerin fatty acid esters. A content of the cosurfactant is 0.3% by mass or greater relative to the mass of the cleanser composition. A total amount of ionic surfactants is 0.10% by mass or less relative to the mass of the cleanser composition.
