Adhesive dental bleaching compositions containing polyvinylpyrrolidone
09782338 · 2017-10-10 · ·

A dental bleaching composition comprises a dental bleaching agent and a polyvinylpyrrolidone thickening agent. The bleaching composition may include a liquid component, flavoring agents, a basic substance and desensitizing agents, as desired. Polyvinylpyrrolidone avoids acid etching and chelation of teeth that were problematic in bleaches using carbomer as a thickener. A delivery system for delivering the bleaching composition comprises the aforementioned dental bleaching composition in combination with a moisture-resistant barrier layer such as a dental tray or a flexible strip of material.

PROCESS FOR IMPROVING PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION OF CALCIUM CARBONATE-COMPRISING MATERIAL

The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of an aqueous suspension comprising at least one calcium carbonate-comprising material, the calcium carbonate-comprising material having a ratio of particles having an average particle size d.sub.80 value to particles having an average particle size d.sub.20 value [d.sub.80/d.sub.20] in the range from 1.5 to 4 and the use of the calcium carbonate-comprising material in paper and board applications, in cosmetics, in caulks and sealants, in adhesives, in paints and coatings, in fibre applications, in plastics applications or for the replacement of PCC in general.

MOIST WIPE HAVING ENHANCED DISPERSIBILITY

The present disclosure relates to a moist toilet tissue, cleaning wipe or personal wipe having improved dispersibility. The moist toilet tissues, cleaning wipes and personal wipes are sufficiently strong during use and disperse sufficiently quickly under real world conditions to be flushable without creating potential problems for sanitation systems.

BODILY LUBRICATING AND MOISTURIZING COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING PLANT MUCILAGE
20170281525 · 2017-10-05 ·

A body lubricating and moisturizing formulation utilizes a mucilage-containing extract derived from a plant such as okra, Abelmoschus esculentus (Hibiscus esculentus). The formulation may be provided as a free liquid such as a solution, suspension, foam or spray or alternatively impregnated into an absorbent solid article such as a wipe, swab, a bandage or a gauze. Application of the formulation to a mucosal or external bodily tissue result in the application of a layer of mucilage that lubricates and moisturizes the tissue as well as protects it from external damage from foreign particles and UV irradiation. The formulation may be impregnated into a cloth pad to provide an eyelid wipe.

Prolonged delivery of certain fragrance components from personal care compositions

A personal care composition is provided having a highly volatile fragrance which incorporates alpha pinene, beta pinene, hexyl acetate, limonene, (+)-citronellal, dihydromyrcenol, alpha citronellol, beta citronellol, genaniol, lilial or combinations thereof in conjunction with tricyclodecane amide. The tricyclodecane amide functions to prevent fast volatilization of the highly volatile fragrance components when the personal care composition is applied to skin or hair of the human body.

Nanofibre and bioactive compositions and related methods

Described herein are compositions in nanofiber form including one or more bioactive compounds releasably incorporated thereon. In one embodiment a composition is described comprising at least one nanofiber and at least one bioactive compound. The nanofibers are formed from a base material that is solubilized with the bioactive or bioactives in an aqueous based solvent solution and the base material and bioactives are together spun via electrospinning to form dry fibers with the bioactives chemically bonded to the nanofibers and the bioactives remaining stable during storage of the composition under ambient conditions substantially free of moisture. On exposure to moisture, the nanofibers dissolve, thereby releasing the bioactives.

FAST DISINTEGRATING NONWOVEN BINDER

A method for forming a dispersible nonwoven substrate in an aqueous medium comprising, consisting of, or consisting essentially of contacting a fibrous substrate with an aqueous nonwoven binder comprising an emulsion polymer having a polydispersity index of at least 10, a weight average molecular weight of less than 1,000,000 and from 8 weight percent to 22 weight percent acid monomer, based on the weight of the emulsion polymer, is disclosed. The aqueous nonwoven binder can be prepared by a method comprising the steps of: a) emulsion polymerizing at least one mono-ethylenically unsaturated monomer and at least one acid monomer in an aqueous solution using an initiator wherein the initiator is present in the aqueous solution in an amount in the range of from 0.5 weight percent to 1.5 weight percent, based on the total weight of the monomers, to form the emulsion polymer; and b) neutralizing the emulsion polymer with a neutralizer selected from the group consisting of an amine having a pKb of 4 to 7, an alkali hydroxide, and combinations thereof to form the aqueous nonwoven binder. The dispersible nonwoven substrates can be used to produce dispersible wipes, such as baby wipes, personal care wipes, cleaning wipes, or any other wet nonwoven containing lotion having a pH of below 5 or 6.

Topical glycopyrrolate formulations
09744105 · 2017-08-29 · ·

Individually packaged topical formulations comprising about 0.25 to about 6% w/w of glycopyrrolate for the treatment of hyperhidrosis, wherein said wipe is contained within a pouch resistant to leakage. The formulations may further comprise ethanol, a buffering agent and water. In addition, the formulations may further comprise a polymer system comprising a hydrophobic polymer in combination with a hydrophilic polymer.

Cosmetics comprising cosmetic compositions impregnated in hydrophobic polymer foam

The present disclosure relates to cosmetics including a foam for cosmetic composition impregnation including natural rubber (NR) and hydrophobic polymer as a polymer substrate for making the foam, and a cosmetic composition including an organic ultraviolet (UV) blocking component, that is impregnated in the foam. The present disclosure has a reduction in amount of the organic UV blocking component adsorbed to the impregnation material, and can obtain an excellent UV blocking effect.

Paper treatment agent

Provided is a paper treatment agent in which a polyhydric alcohol as a moisturizer has been mixed, and with which paper that has a favorable texture when pressed strongly against the skin as in the case of blowing the nose or the like, suppresses the moisture absorption and moisture desorption even under the environment of high humidity or low humidity, and retains the sense of use, the moist feeling, and the softness can be obtained.
