Laundry treating appliance and method of control

A method and apparatus for a laundry treating appliance dispense treating chemistry into a rotating basket. A dispenser can be a centrifugal dispenser adapted to move or dispense treating chemistry based upon rotational movement of a basket. The dispenser can include a holding pocket to hold a volume of treating chemistry, a transferring pocket to centrifugally receive the treating chemistry, and a dilution pocket to dilute the treating chemistry and dispenser the treating chemistry.

REMOVABLE BASKET FOR LAUNDRY APPLIANCE

A laundry appliance including a cabinet that defines an opening to access an interior. A drum is positioned within the interior of the cabinet. A removable basket is selectively coupled to the drum and includes a first arcuate body that is coupled with a second arcuate body. The second arcuate body is rotatable between a nested position and an expanded position.

Laundry treating apparatus and method for controlling the apparatus

A laundry treating apparatus may include a main drum and an auxiliary drum selectively mounted on or separated from the main drum. A method for controlling the laundry apparatus may include rotating the main drum to cause a centrifugal force for discharging water from the auxiliary drum before supplying washing water into the auxiliary drum. The method may include one of washing laundry in the main drum while the auxiliary drum is separated from the main drum, washing laundry in only the auxiliary drum while the auxiliary drum is mounted on the main drum, or washing laundry simultaneously in the auxiliary drum and the main drum while the auxiliary drum is mounted on the main drum.

Clothes treatment apparatus and control method therefor

A laundry treating apparatus includes a tub configured to hold wash water, a drum rotatably supported in the tub and including a shaft disposed perpendicular with the ground, and a sub-drum detachably mounted to the drum and configured to wash laundry independently from the drum. The sub-drum includes a discharging area in which a discharging path is defined to selectively discharge the wash water in the sub-drum by a centrifugal force generated by rotation of the sub-drum. A check valve is included in the discharging area and is configured to selectively open and close the discharging area when acted on by an external force applied by the centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the sub-drum.

Washing machine and control method thereof

Provided is a washing machine and control method thereof. The washing machine includes at least one magnet attached to an auxiliary wash tub detachable from a main wash tub; a switching device configured to output a detection signal when the at least one magnet approaches within a preset range to the switching device; and a controller configured to determine whether the auxiliary wash tub is installed based on whether the detection signal of the switching device is output, and control a component in the washing machine based on the determination of whether the auxiliary wash tub is installed.

LAUNDRY TREATING APPLIANCE WITH REMOVABLE BASKET

An apparatus for a laundry treating appliance including a first basket defining a first treating chamber for receiving laundry for treatment according to a selected cycle of operation. A first clothes mover can be provided in the first treating chamber. A removable basket assembly can include a second basket with a second clothes mover. A transmitter can be included in the removable basket assembly for operably coupling the second clothes mover to the first clothes mover.

Laundry treating appliance with removable basket

A laundry treating appliance that has a first clothes mover and a removable basket assembly coupled to the first clothes mover. The removable basket assembly has a second wash basket and a second clothes mover. A first blocker is positioned between the second wash basket and the second clothes mover for stabilizing the second clothes mover relative to the second wash basket.
